Game #106: Toronto Blue Jays @ Detroit Tigers, Saturday July 26th, 2025, 6:10 Pm

Not enough hitting.
The pen is just too predictable.
They really are going to blow this division lead.

Torres had a couple of good games last weekend, and Greene had a decent game around the same time. McKinstry has two singles since the break; Baez has three singles.
It’s just not enough. No one is clicking at all.

Lee hit a homer for Toledo. Sadly Carpenter is (0-3):
Batting. .071.

Max nad a good night for Erie. Kevin had a few hits.
Sadly they lost 9-6 . 3 in top of the 9th.
Another tiger pen caves in.

I truly believe that our AA team's lineup is better than the Tigers lineup RIGHT NOW!
West Michigan in A ball could beat this group now.
(Not sure who is left for down the road)
You are right about the Seawolves
Erie has some players I hope will do well at Comerica.

I’d rather see Max Clark or Kevin McGonigle bat then some of the guys right now.. The tigers are a terrible watch.
At least Max could beat out a dribbler
. We really seem to be are a unathletic team.

Carpenter hit a Homer in his 4th at bat tonight.
That is a good Sign.

Minor League Update Saturday, July 26th.

Toledo Mudhens (52-49) (13-13) second half 7.5 back.
Lost tonight 5-4 to 60-40) Indianapolis.
Lange back to back bad outings as he gave up all 5 runs.Carpenter hit a homer off a lefty. Lee hit his 10. Still only batting .241. Malloy is in a small slump average down to .307. Ibanez had 3 walks and a hit.
RISP abysmal (0-10)

Lost slugfest at home 9-6. Pen coughs 6-6 game up in the 9th.
Max had 3 hits. Do we dare call him up ? We so need a leadoff hitter who can work walks. He had 3 hits. All the top guys had hits.

Funk.

Central Update Saturday July 26th, 2025
(Another Day and another loss)

—————W-L—GB
Tigers…….60-46…….(Lost 6 in a row)[Pen Blasted Late By Jays 6-1]. *
Cleve……...52-52(-7) (Won 1 in a row)[Split DH in KC (3-5)(6-4].
Royals…….51-54(-8.5)(Lost 1 in a row)[Split DH Cleve WO 5-3, Lost 6-4].
Twins……..50-54(-9)(Lost 1 in a row)[Blasted at home by Nationals 9-3]
W.Sox…….38-67(-21.5)(Lost 1 in a row)[Cubs beat W. Sox on road 6-1].

* Tigers lost 12 of 13 games now. They appear to be lifeless. They seem to me to have zero leadership. Although I like the post game from Skubal. That kid is a stud. Im not sure what to do at the trade deadline.
This team has so many holes. 2 freaking hits tonight. It appears like last year’s scramble to the playoffs we are on our way to a epic collapse unless we pull out of the Dive.

Freaking Sunday is Max Scherzer Birthday :/

Longest Losing streaks by World series winners

1953 Yankees (99-52) was 9 games from June 21st to July 1.
They were 46-13 at the time 11.5 up. After streak they were
46-22 still 5 games up.

=========================
This brings back bad memories.
2006 Cardinals (83-78)
They had two 8 game losing streaks.
June 20th to June 27th.
42-26 at the time 5 up. After streak they wwre 42-34.
Funny lost 3 to @ white Sox, 3 @ Detroit, home 2 of 3 to
Cleveland

July 27 to August 4th. They were 58-42 up 5.5
After they were 58-50 up 2.5.

Plus they had a 7 game skid from September 20 to
September 26. They were (80-69) 7 up.
after they were 80-76 only 1.5 up.

Then they smoked us in World Series.

Watching this collapse is kinda getting a little sad.

How many times can you tell yourself “well, they still have the biggest division lead in baseball, and every game starts 0 to 0?“
