Another tough matchup.

Colt Keith and Wenceel Perez are the first teammate duo to both record 3 hits in the same game off Zack Wheeler in his entire career.

Looks like the Tigers have already made a usage adjustment with Kyle Finnegan. He was 65% FB, 30% split, 5% slider with the Nats. Today he was 39% FB, 39% split, 22% slider. Something to watch in the future.

Finnegan told the media earlier this week he was trying to start using his slider more. Believed he should get more whiffs than he has with his stuff, but he knew he needed to trust his third pitch enough to actually use it. Threw 4 of them today in a 4-out save.

The Tigers have optioned RHP Brenan Hanifee to Triple-A Toledo, opening up a spot for the arrival of veteran starter Charlie Morton. The Tigers’ bullpen now looks like this: Right-handers Kyle Finnegan, Rafael Montero, Will Vest, Tommy Kahnle, Luke Jackson and Troy Melton; and left-handers Tyler Holton and Brant Hurter.

40-man roster RHP Jose Urquidy has been added to LakelandFlyingTigers roster and will be making a rehab start today.

Remember the name Kelvis Salcedo. The 19-year-old made his Low-A debut tonight with 3 scoreless, hitless innings (1BB/5K). His fastball sat at 97 and he threw some very nice cutters and changeups.
He averaged 2717 RPMs on his cutter. That would be tied for 11th highest average in MLB.

Minn Beat Cleveland.

Pretty impressive, considering buxton is out and they traded away everyone else who could hit.

It's criminal that Malloy isnt up with this team. His .394 obp vs lefties when he was up here alone should have him leading off every time vs a lefty. Great pinch hit option late vs lefties too. Spare me with the defense argument. This team needs guys on base.

They are hoping MV can recapture his last years stats.
It’s pretty obvious he can’t.

Why isnt Green shorting up his swing against lefty’s ?

Big early jam for Morton.

I wish we had young guys with innings to pitch like say Melton :/

Ground out down 1-0. Had batter 1-2 and could not get the K.
Next guy fouls out to Dingler.
Greene saves the inning and keeps it 1-0.

GET VIERLING OFF THE FIELD BEFORE HE HURTS SOMEONE !
Almost a terrible Collision.

Not looking good so far. Let’s see if they learn anything from their first at bat.

Sanchz is a 6'6" Lefty and has an impressive record this year although his last two games are strange, beating the red sox and losing to the white sox.

Come on Greene . Take a damn pitch at least.
Tork battled him and fouled some pitches off.
Greene hacks away at the first pitch.
That half inning fizzles fast.

Shame we couldn’t do anything with Tork and Greene coming up in the 4th. Fifth was bad 123.

Dang Morton is pitching almost as good as Sanchez.

6 th inning
Is it 3 pitches two outs :/

Make that 4 pitches and three outs. . wtf.

Maybe swing early isn’t Working .
