Game #116: Minnesota Twins @ Detroit Tigers, Wednesday August 6th, 2025 1:10 Pm

Max would be a better leadoff hitter than we have right now. I only worry that he is really streaky like Greene. But he is faster and has a better arm. He may make it next year hopefully. But I doubt they promote him in September. It will be Malloy and Sweeney and or Hanifee or another reliever. He was tearing the cover off the ball verses Akron and the series before that. Against Lowly Richmond who is terrible he has struggled like you said. Max Anderson or Keven would be called up over Clark I think..
Cruz is starting to hit at Toledo . Maybe him., this team needs a jolt.

Sommer another clean inning in relief picked up the win.

FIVE FOR FRIDAY.
Totally Tigers

We know who the catalyst is for the Detroit Tigers’ pitching staff, but what about the positional players?

Who is the guy who sets the tone, leads the rest of the roster, motivates and/or makes things happen on the field?

Who helps set this team up to win?
Considering it’s Friday, here are the top 5 candidates:

JAVIER BAEZ – Veteran leadership and willing to play whatever position, like CF for the 1st time, in order to try to win the game.

KERRY CARPENTER – His absence in the lineup correlated to the team’s prolonged losing streak. With the best slash line on the roster, fans have started chanting his name when he comes to bat.

RILEY GREENE – The Tigers use him as one of the faces of the franchise. He leads the team in HRs and RBIs but his lengthy hitting streaks alternate with equally-lengthy droughts.

ZACH MCKINSTRY – He’s got the 2nd best slash line and plays every position but C and CF. His base running is a joy to watch as is the biggest smile on his face when playing. Nominated for several MLB awards based upon his passion for the game and leadership.

GLEYBER TORRES – Another veteran presence who has taken on a leadership role and a positive presence with all of his teammates. He is a key contributor at the plate.
Who’s your top choice as the team’s biggest catalyst?

Who is your choice as the Tigers' biggest catalyst?

1. Javier Baez
2. Kerry Carpenter
3. Riley Greene
4. Zach McKinstry
5. Gleyber Torres
