Tigers Top 40 Prospect August 2025 update. Max Anderson promoted to Toledo.

Tigers reliever Will Vest breaks down his spiked slider grip and how he developed it. Vest's slider owns a gaudy 45.9% whiff rate with a .185 xBA this season.

Will Vest in the in the 7th and 8th:
6.35 ERA.
.269 ave. against
.351 obp.

Will Vest in the 9th:
0.87 ERA.
.162 ave. against
.205 obp.

It is pretty interesting how the losing stretch of 1-11 lingers in our mind. They’ve been 9-5 since. Few seem to be positive over the better stretch. It’s understandable.“9-5” is an excellent stretch of results whether it’s been visually pleasing at times or not.
A .642 run is nothing to sneeze at. 18 games remaining in August (12 on the road) with 2 off days. I’d take 10-8 right now with no arguments and we could fast forward to September. If they do better than that, I’d be thrilled. (9-9 isn’t bad either).

Our leadoff hitter saw 2 pitches. I guess hack away is a sign of the times

Jesus Jack. Back to back warning track fly outs for him.
Nice running grab by Kerry in Right center.
Deep grab by Perez in CF.
Nasty pitch for the K and out #3.

Top 2nd.
Greene swings at a terrible pitch. That ball was high.
1st pitch out., Weak fly out to RF.
Shit Tork HBP (ouch) finger. (Sox challenge hit bat)
Guess it hit nob first foul ball.
Tork BB
Perez (1-2)count (K’s on slow pitch).
McKinstry (1-2)count (K’s on high waste Pitch)
Both strikeouts were out of the zone

(1-2) count check swing nasty K.

GET JACK SOME RUNS.

Malloy 3 more hits tonight in Toledo including 2 doubles.
JHM is batting .315 for Toledo. Hell Kreidler has 2 doubles. His average is up to .253.Max Anderson has a hit in his Mudhens Debut.
Game is close in the late innings.

MLB TV is really bottoming out tonight. Druski is on in a locker room, with Jamal and Dexter sitting in the seats at some arena, and Matt Vasgersian up top. Uncoordinated, incomprehensible babbling.

Tigers 3rd
Dingler HBP.
Sweeney Lineout to CF.
Keith (1-2) K. (Does anyone try to hit it the other way)
Torres Pops out on a missed hanging ball.

No hits against a pitcher with 6.62 era.

Ramirez has 2 homers for Cleveland. One looks like the winner in the bottom of the 8th.

Offense is making way too many shithooks look good lately. This bum has an era over 6 ffs

Does Jack every get run support ?

Wow a guy who takes the ball the other way.

Well the Sox pitcher has All ready lowered his era from 6.62 to
5.66.

Maybe the 4th inning we will get a hit.
