Hope so, that would be the smart thing to do, start melton today no sense in letting him waste away in the pen. I hope the tigers get their shit together soon this is all becoming rather annoying

It sure would be nice if the offense would wake up early today. Hopefully my phone works for the broadcast.

It’s a shame the top of the tigers order just cant get on base.

Sox pitcher mowed us down for 5 innings early this year.
According to the radio broadcast he has been struggling
Lately.

Sawyer Gipson-Long has been activated from his rehab assignment, joining the Tigers. Codi Heuer optioned to Triple-A Toledo.

Detroit Tigers Bullpen: Now Playing “Reliever Roulette”.
TMLR

Riley Greene becomes the 7th player in Detroit Tigers history with 25 HR and 25 doubles in the same season at age 24 or younger: Hank Greenberg - 1934, 1935
Rudy York - 1938 Al Kaline - 1956 Jason Thompson - 1978 Steve Kemp - 1979
Spencer Torkelson - 2023 Riley Greene - 2025.

Tigers medical update.

A.J. Hinch on Tommy Kahnle's struggles: "He doesn’t get to pitch for free. The situation is going to dictate whether the innings are there for him. We try to get him in as low-leverage or low-pressure situations as possible so he can work on things...But we’ve got to compete on the field. This is not practice."
Since July 2. Kahnle stats: 15G, 1-3 W-L, 11 IP, 20 ER, 21 H, 13 walks, 8 K 16.36 era,
3.09 WHIP thats definitely DFA material.
Why haven’t the Tigers put Kahnle on a the fake IL for two weeks. He’s already thrown the most innings in a season since 2017 and we still have 8 weeks to go and playoffs. He’s 36 years old.
Kahnle last 16 outings 13.2 IP 25 H 22 runs.

3 things the Tigers did at their best as AJ Hinch cornerstones.
1. play clean...solid defense solid baserunning.
2. quality relief pitching.
3. Exploit mistakes.
That baseball has been missing for 65 games. Their POBO made zero effort to add pieces to recapture.
Important missing pieces by injury of self implosion: Parker Meadows, Matt Vierling, Jason Foley, Beau Brieske, Sean Guenther.

How many garbage day pickups have been picked up, and how many have provided any useful outings. The smartest guy in the room is always the last guy to know..he isn't really smart about everything.
R. Montero Hartlieb Brebbia Henandez Owens Luke Jackson Gage Enns Maeda Cobb Heuer.

Over the past decade, playoff teams have accumulated a benchmark of just over 33.0 WAR. The Detroit Tigers need to up their numbers.

The Tigers are 7-17 in games started by Jack Flaherty. From the fifth inning on, Flaherty has a 6.97 ERA. The Tigers are scoring just 2.8 runs per game in his starts. Not exactly a winning formula.

We might see Alex Lange soon. Threw really well last night for Toledo and has put together multiple solid outings.

Tigers' minor league promotion could foreshadow September roster expansion decision.... or could it? Max Anderson.

Except for Báez for the most part the bats have been more patient today. Not square much up well. Super frustrating this bum once again shuts em down for five inning. What the hell is it going to take to gets these sticks out of their asses.

Here's some exciting news. If Meadows doesn't get healthy, Kevin McGonigle is eligible to be promoted without losing a season of control, AFTER AUGUST 15.
