Gotta run some errands. Hopefully we can score early !

Making the case for the Tigers next call-up. Interesting, the usual, and some you might not have heard of.
TMLR

Prior to his trade to DET, Kyle Finnegan threw 65% fastballs, 30% splitters + 5% sliders. He had a 4.38 ERA / 4.21 xFIP, 19.6 K% + 8.6 BB%.
Since the trade, he's thrown 49% fastballs, 44% splitters + 7% sliders.
In 6.2 IP w/ DET, he has a 0.00 ERA / 1.84 xFIP, 36.4 K% + 4.5 BB%.

Brenan Hanifee is with the Tigers. Brant Hurter optioned to Toledo.

Clark adjusted after striking out his first two times up against Juaron Watts-Brown to go backside on a fastball for his second homer of the week. Good piece of hitting here.

Kevin McGonigle destroys this pitch for a 2-run homer to right center. It’s his 4th home run of the week.

The Detroit Tigers have now won 12 out of their last 18 games. That goes back to the trade deadline when the team acquired 7 new pitchers. Coincidence?

Tigers relievers Will Vest and Kyle Finnegan since the July 31 trade deadline:
14.1 IP 1.26 ERA 2 BB 19 K 6 SV.

Charlie Morton (41) became the first 40-something Tigers pitcher to win a start since 43-year-old Kenny Rogers beat Texas on August 18, 2008.

The Tigers saw 220 pitches last night, the most in a 9-inning game since a 17-4 win at Texas on September 17, 2008.

Justyn-Henry Malloy must make this crucial improvement to avoid Tigers Quad-A fate.
Feels like he's at a crossroads, right?
MCBTB

Best thing about Detroit Tigers' closers? Kyle Finnegan, Will Vest put team first.
Freep

And Kerry makes the second out swinging at ball 4 (after swinging at ball one earlier in the bat).

This team and Lob's. These at bats are Maddening. And I'm watching the ticker at the store
Swing 3-0.. just because you had two hits yesterday. Not a fan :/

Baez grounds into a dp on the first pitch, 6 inches inside, and Sweeney swings on ball 4 for fly out for the 3rd out. This team is brain dead far too much of the time . That should have been at least one run, probably more, with just a hint of intelligence.

And Wenceel swings at two pitches that are 6 inches inside, for a ground out to finish the inning with 2 lob.

You know, Paddack is a middling pitcher, but he is a middling pitcher that the Twins know all of the faults of intimately. It’s sad that we have to have him start 2 of his first starts with us against them. Pull him, or just concede that this game is spinning out of control.

Ball mustve carried late on tork. He got there and then slowed up. Hopefully it doesnt hurt us

Paddack isn’t that good
But he does like to trash talk, referring to this start as a “revenge” start. He’s half right. His last start against them was a revenge start, after he mouthed off. This one has just continued the revenge. What a tool.
