Detroit takes another season series win, hosts the Astros, who struggled against Baltimore as Seattle puts on the heat.

Cris Rodríguez hit his 10th home run of the season yesterday. As far as we can tell, that makes him the 3rd player in Detroit Tigers franchise history to reach double-digit homers in his age-17 season.
He joins: Jose De La Cruz - 11 (2019) Ralph Younker - 11 (1937).

Detroit Tigers prospect Cris Rodriguez received 5 awards yesterday from the Tigers organization. -

Wenceel Perez is the 9th Tigers player this season with 10 or more home runs.
This season is the 6th in Tigers history where nine-plus players posted double-digit home run totals.

The Tigers are 1 of 3 AL teams with 7 hitters* with at least a 100 wRC+ (league avg mark). Carpenter (130) Greene (124) Torkelson (124) Keith (119) Torres (115)
McKinstry (113) Dingler (107) *min. 300 PA.
And about to have 5 hitters at 800+ OPS

Kerry Carpenter walked three times in 187 PA from May 14 to Aug. 15. He has now walked three times in the past three games.

Detroit Tigers bullpen good enough for World Series run? These 2 stats say yes.
Good story.

Perez singles . Then gets thrown out stealing And McKinstry works 3-1 count and K’s. Dingler k’s on slow curve.

Kevin hit another homer (#7) for Erie and a double but they are not playing well losing 3-2 at home. Clark had a stolen base but something happen and he left the game. Im not sure when.

Damn Skubals 2nd walk. Now he has to face Peña.
Am so not a fan of that 1-2 pitch. Why are you giving Peña
that good of a pitch ? Just an awful pitch. So frustrating.
Makes zero sense.
Gets next batter Correa but it cost him a bunch of pitches.

Tigers 3rd

Sweeney singles
Keith K’s
Torres bloop Single RF.
Carpenter 0-2 hole of 1st two pitches.(Lines into a double play at 1st.)

And It just continues with RISP got this team.
Man tigers averages RISP are just not good.
Carpenter is batting only .145 RISP.
The team just struggles to get that fly ball for sac fly

Single freaking double .
2 out freaking run as dingler misses the damn tag.
I thought he missed the tag but apparently the mitt
Moved on the runner.

No way they should over turn this.,
Glad to be wrong !

Tigers lead off hitter on 3 innings in a row and we have let Brown off the hook.

Tigers 5th

McKinstry fouls a bunch of pitches off then crushes a triple over center. Fielders head. His 9th triple.
Dingler with zero outs grounds out to 3rd.
(Benntti so Jinxed him).
Sweeney 0-2,1-2,2-2, 3-2, K’s
Keith BB
Torres hacks at 1st Pitch F-8

Just awful at bats by Dingler and Sweeney.
I do not get the 1st Pitch hacking tonight because so far all it has produced is outs.

Twice we have had runners on 3rd with one out and zero outs and failed to score. That is such poor hitting.

The 2nd,3rd, 4th and I think the 5th we put the lead off hitter on and failed to score.

You have to score against good pitching when you get your chances.. I am not sure why we are so bad with runners on 3rd and less then 2 outs.

Malloy hit his 6th homer for Toledo.,his average is .313
Ss-Cruz hit his 5th homer for Toledo his average after a slow start coming from Erie is up to .286 . He also has a double.

Skubals 10th K ends the top 7th .

Pitches and strikes K’s/bb
6 innings Brown 101/61 (6/3)
7 innings Scubal 95/68 (10/2)

Brown has gotten out of 2 major jams.
(Poor Tiger at bats)
Skubal had 2 two out hits and a great play at the plate to keep Astros off the board.
