Game #129: Houston Astros @ Detroit Tigers, Wednesday August 20th, 2025, 1:10 Pm

After losing 12 of 13 in mid-July, the Tigers are 16-7 since July 27. They're 10-3 since their last series loss two weeks ago against the Twins. What does A.J. Hinch say to the fans who were freaking out a few weeks ago? "I think we should just thank them for being passionate enough to care. I don’t fault people for caring or being super passionate....But don’t forget to love on us a little bit when things are bad."

she shouldn't brag about the bull pen and starting pitching acquisitions. Harris has not done a good job in that department.

Wanna know the 2025 Detroit Tigers’ magic number to win the AL Central?
It's 25.

8-2 in their last 10 Winners of 3 straight Division lead is 10 games. This team is fun again.

Charlie Morton has a 3.63 ERA and quality starts in three of four outings since getting traded to the Tigers.

Tigers fans happy to hear positive update on Jackson Jobe from pitcher's father.

I look forward to this update (and synopsis of each game) every morning. Thanks for doing it.
Thank you very much. Ron does most of the work on the boards which we all appreciate but when I started to look at the farm system I realized I didn’t know much about each team.
Thanks again I enjoy doing it.
We all have to give Harris and his group kudos for developing a fabulous farm system. Man I hope he can deliver us all a title !
Btw on off days like today I will post a different minor league update later tonight on the game threads last game. So it will be on this thread later tonight after the games are over.

The Senators decided to walk the bases loaded. They had 5 infielders. Didnt work as Mendoza Wrapped the winning hit on the first pitch.
Erie wins 3-2. Kevin was 0-4. Three pitchers had 11 K’s and 3 BB.

FIVE FOR FRIDAY.

Most Tiger fans are in agreement. It’s been a really fun year to watch this team play.
But which players right now do you have the most fun watching?

as much as I want another title, I would almost rather have a good team and farm system every year than winning one title. I know it sounds dumb, but I get as much enjoyment out of watching a really good/competitive team year in and year out than one title. I was at game 5 of the '84 WS, so that bucket list item is checked. Following a bad team just isn't fun. Watching 162 game of a good team every year, like they have now, is better than one title every 30+ years.

Don't forget the $10M they are paying Maeda.

They only have 5 players that are "under contract" with the majority being Arb or pre Arb.

Id really like to see another title. I remember 68 vaguely.. 1984 was special. Sadly that teams should have won more than one. I really would like to see the Tigers win another title. Look I do not want to be bad but it feels like we are close to title. Not sure what they should do.
