Sadly I will be at a family function. Hope I’m a. Watch some of the game. Go Tigers !

Last game Flaherty pitched I asked if it would be trick Flaherty or treat Flaherty.

Jack Flaherty's 4.51 ERA currently ranks 45th among 58 qualified starters. His xFIP on the other hand is 3.64, which ranks 20th. The 0.87 difference between his ERA and xFIP is tied for the 7th largest gap among qualified starters, suggesting he has dealt with some bad luck this year.

The Tigers (78-53) are back to their high-water mark of the season: 25 games over .500. (59 -34). The last time they were 26 games over .500 was 2013 when they finished 93-67.

Spencer Torkelson since 6/26, 279/354/508 138 wRC+ 9.2 BB% 11 HR.

Colt Keith contract extension paying dividends for Tigers thanks to unexpected reason.

They're hitting everything hes throwing.
I have to wonder if everything is flattening out, making is easy to hit, or if he is tipping his pitches in some way. Several of those hits were off of pitches right on the edge of the strike zone.

Flaherty puts the first 8 down in order, then gives up 7 hits in a row. It's maddening how up and down he is every start.

Chalk this up as a loss and just let Flaherty throw until his arm falls off. Rest the bullpen.

Perhaps working other zones would help. He just keeps pitching the bottom of the zone, a lot of it center. He isn’t challenging them anywhere else.

This game turned to shit in a hurry.
7 hits in a row is schizo. I agree let him pitch and give the bullpen a rest.

Our announcers said that the Tigers have a history of coming back. I have only seen that in smaller increments this season; perhaps this game will change that.

If things keep going the way they have for the next couple weeks, I cant see why detroit wouldn't bring McGonigle uo for Sweeney. We have others that cant play short on the current roster to ease him in and see what he can handle.
