25 year old Catcher Eduardo Valencia is just crushing the ball
He hit 3 homers in a 16-3 game yesterday. Is it because he is
Pudgy they won’t give him a look lol.

He has 10 or 11 homers homers at Toledo. Batting .320
He had 11 at Erie . Batted .305 at Erie

Harris has so many Infielders and catchers. I do not understand not unloading a few for some decent Pitchers at the deadline.

SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

The Detroit Tigers’ starting rotation has been decimated by injuries and non-performance issues. Other than Tarik Skubal, only Casey Mize can be counted on for some pitching stability.
Troy Melton, making his MLB debut just recently, has now pitched in 10 games, starting 3 of them. His ERA stands at 2.25 and his WHIP is 0.906 (through Thursday’s games).
A. J. Hinch moved him to the bullpen recently for several reasons. First, to avoid putting immense pressure onto a recently-arrived rookie by easing him into playoff mode given such little experience in the majors.
The second reason is for injury prevention. Melton has already met the number of innings pitched in 2024 and studies indicate that pitchers should throw no more than an additional 30-40 innings the following year to help prevent injuries such as Tommy John.
The third reason for the temporary move to the bullpen is the belief that Melton can help the team in more situations. Pitching in more games but with fewer innings.
As the Tigers get closer to October, Hinch has said he hasn’t totally shut the door on bringing Melton into a game as a starter.
Which strategy do you believe is the best? Using Melton as a starter or using him more often as a reliever?

How should Troy Melton be used for the rest of the season/playoffs?

1. As a starter.

2. Pitching more often as a reliever.

Surprisingly, Rogers has an .801 ops since the all star break. Catcher hasnt been our problem. Our problem is that Harris decided not only to not make any impact trades at the deadline, but actually made the team worse with his bargain basement trades.

But hey, we're flush with a ton of hitting prospects that are all blocking each other.

Starter

They already ****ed up Keider by moving him back and forth. Keider has flashed as a starter for the last 2 seasons and they keep shoving him back into the bullpen for shitty vets. Don't do the same with Melton
