Go Tigers . Sadly I am working a super late shift tonight :(
I may be unable to get the lineups in. I will do my best later.

Trick or Treat Flaherty is pitching tonight, I wonder if a pitcher has had 200 strikeouts with an ERA over 5.00 before.

Among MLB pitchers with at least 20 saves this year, Will Vest ranks 2nd in 9th-inning ERA (1.25), trailing only Aroldis Chapman (0.83).

The West Michigan Whitecaps, the High-A affiliate of the Tigers, are heading into their last weekend with an INSANE record of 90-38. They have a chance to become the first MiLB club with a .700 winning percentage in nearly 30 years.

Paul Sewald worked a scoreless inning in his rehab appearance for the Whitecaps tonight. One walk, one strikeout, no hits allowed. It’s his first appearance since July 11th, and according to Dan Hasty, his fastball topped out at 91 MPH.

Jake Miller, in his 2nd rehab appearance since hitting the IL in late April, takes a 105 MPH line drive off his back. He left the game afterward.

Kevin McGonigle is 5 for his last 40.

The Tigers are 81-60 this season. They lead their division by 9.5 games, and trail Toronto by a half-game for the AL’s best record.

Tigers batters have hit .142 against this starter, while White Sox batters have hit .310 against Flaherty.

Wenceel gets a single after the first five Tigers go down in order. All 6 of them took swings at stuff well outside the strike zone. That is off to a bad start, behind 1-0. Still early, though.
Edit, and McKinstry k's for the 6th out, and the 4th k in 2 innings. At least they were all strikes.

Top of the third, Flaherty gives up another double and single. 2-0

And in the bottom of the inning, Dingler hbp, and Meadows hits a hr, 2-2.

Top of the 4th, walk, sac bunt, k, single (with an error by Wenceel), runner moves up to 2nd, 3-2

Bottom of the 4th, k, groundout, walk, ground rule double on a hit to the left fielder, deflected by the shortstop. That will be interesting to see; it’s pretty hard to envision. Wild pitch, both runners score, k. Tigers up 4-3.

Sure would be nice if one of these bums would step up and be s solid #2 starter and not just big piles of #2.

Top of the 5th, double, line out, 4 pitch walk, hbp, that’s it for Flaherty. Horn in, instantly in the hole three balls, gets a force out, run scores, k.

Walk, Colt chases a fb that is a foot outside for a double play, Gleyber hits a soft liner on the first pitch. I guess you guys want to get another inning with their starter.

Top of the 6th, Homer, line out, Keider comes on in relief, pop out, fly out. 5-4 white sox
