Can the tigers play small ball !
Double
Ground out move runner
Sac fly by ZM ! 4-3 Tigers !

It worked !

no walks please.
Back to back freaking walks .
5 so far.
0-2 count to a HBP ! Sigh !
Stop over throwing to lefty’s please !
My god we can’t get a close strike from this ump.
One pitch looked good for K.

Why do we struggle so when we get ahead in the count ?
Melton was ahead all inning .
Melton gets out of his own Jam !
So Lucky .

What is with every one of our pitchers losing the strike zone periodically?

If we are going to limit his innings and use him effectively, he needs to start pitching more efficiently than that. 24 pitches (only ten strikes) to get two outs.........

Other than Skubal do the Sox have better starters then we do ?

Eduardo Valencia

I wonder if this guy will ever get a shot in the mlb.
Tearing up Erie and Toledo this year ?
Catcher/1b

He is probably going to be a minor league free agent by not bringing him up.

A minor leaguer becomes a free agent by a combination of service time and contract status: they are granted free agency after six (or seven) full seasons in the minors if not on a 40-man roster, if their minor league contract expires and the team chooses not to renew it, or if they are released from their contract by the team. Players who sign at 19 or older can become minor league free agents after six seasons instead of the standard seven, a rule put in place by a 2023 collective bargaining agreement.

Tarik Skubal's last four starts: 27.2 IP 0.33 ERA 0.77 WHIP 32 K | 5 BB.
He leads the AL in ERA, WHIP, Strikeouts and fWAR this season.

We are far too good at expanding the strike zone.
They failed to score in the 6th in part because Ibanez was too aggressive. This is the reason we keep failing so much with runners in scoring position untimely over aggressive at bats.

Final line today for Charlie Morton: 3 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 2 K.
He has a 6.09 ERA with the Tigers.

Colt Keith in 1st inning: .579 OPS 63 wRC+
Colt Keith w/ RISP.818 OPS 120 wRC+

Post ASB the Tigers team ERA for SP minus Tarik Skubal is 5.57
