The Tigers today claimed RHP Grant Holman off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers. Holman has been optioned to the FCL. To make room on the 40-man roster, INF Trey Sweeney has been transferred to the 60-day injured list.
With today's RBI single in the first inning, Riley Greene has now reached base safely in each of the Tigers' first 15 games this season. He is the first Tiger to reach base safely in each of the team's first 15 games to start a season since Brandon Inge reached base in each of the Tigers first 24 games in 2009.

Tigers signed OF Tyler Gentry to a minor-league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Toledo. Gentry played in 3 games for Royals in 2024. He hit .206/.284/.371 in 86 games for Triple-A Omaha last year. Royals released him at end of spring training last month.

We are somewhere between one and two weeks into the 2026 minor-league season. It’s far too early to make any sweeping declarations. But this 2025 Detroit Tigers draft class looks good.

Riley Greene is the first Tiger to reach base safely in each of the first 14 games of the season since ... Austin Jackson in 2013. Jackson was hitting .368 (.904 OPS) at that juncture. Greene is hitting .204 (.573 OPS) at this juncture.
From April 10, Bryce Rainer just hit an absolute bomb. 477 feet, 116 MPH for his first home run of the season. I think he is feeling pretty good.
Among all MLB hitters so far this season, Colt Keith ranks 5th in average exit velocity (95.3 MPH) and 7th in batting average (.364).
For Tigers' Kyle Finnegan, early walks are annoying, not alarming.
