In 1976 and 1977, the Montgomery Rebels (Tigers Double-A affiliate at the time) and Lakeland Tigers won titles in back to back seasons.Montgomery won five titles in six seasons (72,73,75,76,77) then Triple-A Evansville.

In 1979, took the title. Jim Leyland won titles in both Lakeland and Evansville. It is one of the best eras of minor league baseball not only the Tigers but by any big league team.

The last time more than one current Tigers affiliate claimed a league title in the same year was 2006: Toledo & West Michigan.

Not sure an agree with the Hanifee for Hurter move. Must be Cleveland has a ton of lefty’s . Still Hurter is not as good as Hanifee.
