Game #156: Atlanta Braves @ Detroit Tigers, Sunday September 21st, 2025 , 1:10 pm

This would be a good time for a single, Riley. Can you shorten up and get us that?

I truly wish some reporter would ask AJ at the post game interview if they have given any thought to how to change their approach with runs in scoring position.

Hey look Rainey pitched and couldn't get an out. Harris should be fired TODAY!!!

Scott Harris = Matt Millen

At least our guys go into Cleveland with the Guardos having tasted a loss.

That right there, that is some clutching to straws kind of shit, isn’t it?

Like, rearranging the deck chairs on The Titanic kind of shit, isn’t it (notice my second Titanic reference in two days)?

I don’t know. I guess maybe like, hit more home runs, instead of maybe like, less home runs?

Runners left in scoring position, 2 out: Torkelson 3; Pérez, W; Jones, Jah; Sweeney 2.
Team RISP2-for-13.

Tigers' lead over Guards remains just 1 game after 6th straight loss.

Braves 6 - Tigers 2: Ain’t it funny how it happens?
At least Detroit’s magic number is 6?

Detroit Tigers collapse rolls on with 6-2 loss, sweep by Braves — 6 straight losses.

I heard AJ on the radio Broadcast gush about Rainey ansd how he had mlb experience and has pitched in a World Series ! LMAO
He could not even get an out ! What a joke.

Tigers had 4 innings in a row with 2 runners in as you all know and the first one was the worst.

These batters never make any adjustments it is so bad.
Just throw us slow crap with 2 strikes. We flail away.

Back to back walks to meadows and Torres .
CarpenterF -7 Greene k’s on off speed pitches. Tork k’s on a slider. What a joke. I gave up after the 2nd one.

I had MLB network on back in June, and the Tigers were in the middle of their hot streak, and starting a series with the Rays. Two of the guys (probably Amsinger and Plesac, though I don't remember clearly) were raving about how well the Tigers were doing, but said that the Rays were the type of team that they wouldn't want to play in a playoff game; fast on the bases, able to produce runs, etc. They asked Harold Reynold, and he agreed with them about the Rays. About the Tigers? He said "I don't think they will do well; they have to always rely on the home run, and you have to manufacture runs in the playoffs". Didn't we do a great job of manufacturing runs the last month?

What's Jimmy Smokes doing these days? He's still got a few good years left right?

Btw
Playoff game #1
Erie is up 10-4 top of ninth at Binghamton. Look who has had a big night at the plate . Kevin is 3 for 4 with 3 runs a homer, 2 RBIs .
He does have 1 error . We have Baez, McKinstry and Sweeney .

Minor League update Sunday September 21st, 2025

Toledo Mudhens (84-66) (45-30) 2nd half.
Won final game of the season 7-2 Final. Malloy hit his 9th homer and finished season with a 2 for 5 with a homer ,2 runs and a rbi. He batted .322 for the season at Toledo.
Hanifee, Mattison, and Urquidy all with clean innings.

No playoffs for Toledo. Even though they tied for 2nd half division lead the international league takes best record regardless of division. So both playoff teams came from the other division. Stupid in my opinion.

I know, right? Verlander continues to be good.

But should we go back in time to retrieve him and bring him back to the Tigers at the time of the trade?Wouldn’t that potentially **** up the whole time/space continuum?

In every fictional ideation of the violation of the time space continuum, the outcome has been universally catastrophic.

Except for Mark Twain’s “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’ Court.”

That was pretty cool.
