Game #160: Detroit Tigers @ Boston Red Sox, Friday September 26th, 2025, 7:10 Pm

Tigers lose in the 9th 4-3

Offense just isn’t scoring enough runs had Boston on the ropes in the 4th could have been a huge inning only got 3 and that was it for the night.
Agreed, had a 3-1 lead in the 7th tho until he needlessly went to the shitty bullpen

So Greene K'd with bases loaded 1 out top of the first.

Another shitty tiger hitter who can't put the ball in play with less then 1 out..

These hitting coaches and
Tiger mlb scouts need to be fired.
Embarrassing RISP for Riley this year, it’s a random stat but it has to improve.
The worst thing is he could care less as long as he can hit 36 home runs with over 200 strikeouts.

Up 3-0. Or 3-1 whatever it was.
Bases loaded no outs still batting.
Torres
Tork
Greene
**** you three.

The game should be over right then.
How does Torres and Tork not understand the assignment?
**** Greene he k’s to much.

This team is so hard to watch.

How do they keep blowing these chances ?
So damn aggravating.

10 hits with 4 walks and only 3 runs is embarrassing.
These hitting coaches all need to go.

Boxscore. Fcuk you Kahnle.

I feel like a lot of the players joined us fans in giving up on this year when Harris decided to punt on the season at the deadline.

Hey Harris ?
How many more wins would the Tigers have if you had drafted this >
5.5 war player ! (Langford)
So damn frustrated this team just needed some help at the deadline

Im tired of Meadows (.211) and the Vierling (dl all year) show.

Hey dumbass I don’t care about 2027 or 2028 you pencil head !

I dunno….the Astros are playing the Angels. Here.

Regardless of everything else, I’m gonna pay attention to that game and if the Astros lose, the hanging “by a thread Tigers” are in the same position - for the most part - that they win before the travesty that is today happened.

Im so angry with this team.
1. Harris Deadleine .
2. Im beginning to think AJ over manages.
3. TOO many strikeouts by our hitters.

And yet I cannot look away even if I want too.
So frustrating.

Jansen for the Angels K’s the some in the 9th .
(Last batter #9 hitter (Dubon) was a 10 pitch battle)
Solo Homer by Trout in the 8th is the winner.
4-3 Final.

Tigers getting help everywhere and AJ cant get them a win
Tonight.

All Shitty Detroit and Cleveland have to do is win 1 Game this weekend.

Looked like Medows missed timed his jump ? I can’t tell I guess.

Tigers lose and Guardos lose and Astros lose.

And everyone reasonably is in relatively the same suspended animation where they were when they started today.

Oh, right…Boston clinched the postseason with a win at home tonight.

Hopefully they won’t be taking the the next two games too seriously.

Maybe start Babe Ruth and have hitting leadoff.

He was fat guy, but Ty Cobb once said he ran the bases pretty well.

For a starting pitcher to hit leadoff is pretty much de reguor in this day and age.

SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

Since mid-April, the Detroit Tigers have been in 1st place. That is, until earlier this week.
At their best, they had a 15.5 lead in their division and spent much of the year with MLB’s best record.
But since early July, their record started to turn. That month, 11 wins and 14 losses. August was again above .500 with 16 wins, 11 losses. September is 6 wins, 15 losses.
This team has not been playing in the 2nd half of the season as they did in the 1st.
All but a handful of players have regressed in both hitting and pitching.
Do you think the very strong start to the season and what was considered an insurmountable lead impacted how the players performed in the 2nd half?
Do you feel their sense of urgency to win was diminished as a result?
Do you feel they became complacent because of their great success?
Do you feel that their .608 winning percentage during the first half ended up negatively impacting their performance in the 2nd?

How much of the Tigers' record start, performance and division lead during the 1st half do you believe influenced the drop during the 2nd half?

1. It had a significant impact.

2. It had some impact.

3. It had no impact at all.

VOTE

It’s all of the above. I don’t know has do answer the question.
Harris screwed up the traded deadline.
AJ over manages with crappy players.
Players strikeout to much.
Maybe subconsciously the trade deadline has affected the players like G has mentioned. What a freaking train wreck. 1 or 2 wins extra over the last month and this would be over.
