Game 161 Tigers vs. brewers September 29, 2018 7:00 start

With his 2-run triple in the 3rd inning, Niko Goodrum now has 48 extra-base hits this season, tied for the ninth-most by a rookie in Tigers history and the most since Austin Jackson also had 48 XBH in 2010.

Top of the 6th,

Lugo triples,

Kozma with a sac fly,

all tied at 5,

Avila said Tigers hitting coaches (McClendon, Clark) have gotten Lugo’s stance a tad more closed, which partly explains sudden power jump.

Daniel Norris won't get the win or the loss tonight, so he'll finish the season 0-5 with a 5.68 ERA.
Not the way he envisioned it, but if you're looking for positives in his limited work, it's this: 51 strikeouts in 44 1/3 IP despite velocity loss that still hasn't returned.

Daniel Norris K'ed 8 batters over 4 2/3 innings, with 5 runs allowed on 6 hits. His no-decision makes him first Tiger since Scott Aldred in 1996 to go winless in a season with at least 8 starts.

yelich homers again,

6 - 5 brewers,

Christian Yelich against the Tigers yesterday and today has 3 HR's 5 RBIS.

Christian leads NL in BA, now tied for lead in HR's, and now only 3 back of lead in RBI's.

Tigers should walk him every at bat tomorrow to ensure he cannot take the lead in RBI's and avoid him winning the Triple Crown.

Hasn't been an NL TC winner in 81 years...Joe Medwick for the Cardinals in 1937.

Watch yelich come up to bat with the bases loaded tomorrow,

yelich has rarely been IBBed during his career, albeit with the marlins prior to this season. He has been IBBed just once in 145 games and 643 PAs this season. brewers gave up 3 minor leaguers and Lewis Brinson, who has slashed .188/.239/.331/.569 in 108 games for an All Star CF who likely will be NL MVP and potentially a TC winner. And he is very cheap, for a salary of $7M this year and <$10M for 2019.
