I don't like this. It reminds me of Greene dismissing his having over 200 strikeouts. Disagree if you want, I think these are kunt comments.

Eh, id prefer our guys have short memories. We will see if it is true, they have played tight for over a month.

The 2025 Detroit Tigers went 3-13 over their final 16 games of the regular season.
They are just the 2nd team in MLB history to finish 3-13 and still make the playoffs.
The other team to do it was the 2000 New York Yankees, who won the World Series.

A different

A different era and play off format when the 67 Tigers lost on the last day of the season, and it bothered them the entire off season. They came back with a vengeance and won in 68. These guys don't seem to care, even as far back as when Prince Fielder said he would go home and play with his kids, and Verlander wanted to show everyone his new fancy car. These and other reasons are why I don't go crazy on every pitch, batter, or inning.

I guess they really wanted to go back to Cleveland today instead of returning home. Div title not important to them. Noted
Well, Cleveland isn’t very far, and the foliage this time of year is spectacular.

Did I ever tell you guys I once got married this time of year in Cleveland?

The Detroit Tigers were 7-17 (.292) in September. It is the worst record in the final month of a season by a playoff team since the World Series began in 1903.

END OF THE SEASON – FAN FEEDBACK EDITION.
Totally Tigers

The regular season ended for the Detroit Tigers yesterday. They dropped their final game while Cleveland won theirs and took the AL Central title.
The Tigers now head back to Cleveland the play the Guardian in a 3-game wild card series.
Today, we’re opening up the blog for fans to share their thoughts. Given our focus on daily topics, we’re asking fans to discuss the end of the season (August and September) and the start of the playoffs. At some point in the near future, we will certainly review the entire year so please save those comments for then.

I don't think so at all. Skubal's view on it is exactly how they should be feeling. A clean slate, first one to 2 wins moves on.

It isn't going to matter at all if the Tiger's hitters keep having those ridiculous hideous at bats. Baez's 3 run HR was a shocking surprise. Just a pitcher's mistake and he actually hit it. They did not make the same mistake later and with two strikes on Baez, they knew like all of MLB knows, just throw the two strike pitch 10-12" outside and you will have your out.

Riley Greene’s swing is probably the least of his issues right now.
Timing and plate discipline issues have left the Tigers’ slugger in a deep funk since June.

Most of the team has been below average since the ASB. Green has an OPS of .694 since the break, which is below his norm. Torres, McKinstry below .660, Baez and Sweeny below .550 The pitching (outside of Skubal) has also been bad post all star. Basically, this team has been a dumpster fire since the ASB
