Valdez doesn’t get over fast enough on a stab from Tork.
1st and 3rd no outs.
Kevin muffs a play at third. They called it a single but he should have turned a dp i think. Trail 1-0.
Sac fly moves both runners ups.
Fielders choice 6-2 2outs
Wow nasty stuff Valdez out the jam
Only down 1-0.

Another awful at bat by Greene with runners on. 1st and 2nd no outs after Manny’s error Greene swings at the 1st pitch and hits it right back to the pitchers and he turns the double play. What a wasteful at bat
by Greene. Tork picks up Greene Rbi single 1-1.

Twice now our pitchers cant get to first to get an out tonight.

Greene Squib hit 2-2 bases still loaded.
Tork in hack mode down 0-2. Damn it Tork k’s . Tigers wwre bad last year with runners on third and less then 2 outs. I guess we got Greene’s hit.

Kevin McGonigle is on fire ! What a at bat . ‘8or 9 pitch single plate 2
4-2 tigers .
Dingler makes it 5-2 !

Kevin McGonigle only 4th player in mlb history with 5+ hits snd 4 RBIs at 21 years old or younger since rbi became official in 1920.

Kevin McGonigle the star again after 10-pitch battle turns tables on Padres.

SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

How well do you think the Detroit Tigers will do this year?
Last year, they had 87 wins and 75 losses, finishing in 2nd place and earning a wild card playoff spot.
In the off-season, they added 2 starting pitchers (and lost 1 to the IL) and 4 relievers. Kevin McGonigle was added to the infield and Matt Vierling returns to the outfield.
Outside of pitching, the roster remains largely unchanged.
Nationally, the Tigers are ranked as having 1 of the top 3 rotations in MLB.
Offense is considered their biggest weakness. Here’s how they ranked last year in the most important categories:
  • BA – .247 (15th)
  • Runs Scored (11th)
  • HRs (10th)
  • On-Base Percentage (14th)
Defense is also middlin’ with a Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) of 36, ranking them 9th. However, the top teams have DRS in the mid-to-upper 80’s, more than double that of the Tigers.
Defensively, the Tigers had a positive DRS in only 3 positions last year: pitching, 1B (+1 DRS) and catching (+4 DRS). Only 1 infielder had a + DRS (Baez). Only 2 outfielders had + DRS (McKinstry, Perez).
Here is how the AL and NL teams finished in win totals:
Less than 80 wins – AL: 6 NL: 6
81-85 wins – AL: 2 NL: 4
86-89 wins – AL: 4 NL: 0
90 – 95 wins – AL: 3 NL: 3
96+ wins- AL: 0 NL: 2
Use all of these stats along with any intangibles you feel are important as you determine how many wins this team will realistically achieve in 2026.

How many games will the Tigers win in 2026?

1. Less than 80 wins

2. 81-85 wins

3. 86-89 wins

4. 90-95 wins

Barring some sort of terrible injuries to several key players, I see about 90 wins

I just saw the highlights. I see that K McG got robbed of a 400' HR. It was a great play by the CF
