Tigers will reinstate Zach McKinstry from injured list today and put him in lineup tonight vs. Red Sox, manager A.J. Hinch told MLBNetworkRadio.
Gleyber Torres still iffy.

Paul DeJong to Tigers. Minors deal. Yawn.

Statement from Tigers:
"We have terminated the contract of Gabe Alvarez as the manager of Triple A Toledo due to a violation of club policy. Mike Hessman will serve as interim manager.
We will have no further comment."

Tarik Skubal on the IL, True Pitching Chaos Begins: TMLR Recap Week 5. 74 minutes.

Tarik Skubal: Undergoing a procedure to remove loose bodies, usually osteophyte/bone spurs, inside his throwing elbow. These are usually created by the body to help with stability as the repetitive throwing motion is damaging to the surrounding ligaments and tendons. Since the body can’t create new ligaments and tendons (hence damage to the UCL), the best I can do is create new pieces of calcium, which are essentially bone spurs. Sometimes they get dislodged and fall into the joint.Think of it as a rock in your shoe, annoying, painful and not supposed to be there. Hopefully there is no cartilage damage to the joint as a result of these (think arthritis), and it sounds like his ligament is in OK shape. Return returning in 2 to 3 months is realistic.
Jesse Morse MD.

Minnesota Twins right-hander Joe Ryan’s MRI came back this evening showing a tear in his UCL. Ryan, who was an all-star in 2025, is expected to miss the rest of the 2026 season.

Another lefty starter! good lord more than half our games have been against lefty starters this year what is this madness.

Tigers insider attempts to provide Tarik Skubal return timeline but fans are now more mad.
Classic case of saying something without saying anything.

It's possible he might not pitch again this season, once the surgery is done and they see how much damage there is.

like 9 of the last 10 games. Lefty Lefty. I'm so fn thrilled to see Jah Fn Jones in the lineup instead of Kerry Carpenter, Or Lee instead of Keith. Those guys are gonna play like 40% of the season at this rate. woop woop!

And Framber starts the game off with a bang; with some McKinstry help.

good god this team sure knows what not to do, and then do it.

0-3... yay!

7-2.. them

Valdez is sure on today..

'Wheels fall off Jack' Is pitching tomorrow, .

Seemed like the most winnable game of the series... POOF

It appears that Framber doesn't do well when it is cold. Too many years down in Houston.

This is exactly why the Tigers should have traded him this past off season.

Bello is mowing 'em down. The Tigers must have decided to not bother expending too much energy....

Really glad they wasted Hanifee tonight instead of yesterday when we had a 2-0 lead in the 7th.
Nice move AJ using a damn rookie instead of Hanifee yesterday.

So glad we signed the 2nd Ace.

Tigers minors
(Im beginning to think having all these kids play multiple positions means they don’t play one very good.

Valdez hit toy story in the back after back to back sox homers.

I knew the sox would play good baseball once they got out of boston, with all the bad karma here with them sucking, and the Celtics and bruins tossed out of the playoffs.
I said it wouldn't surprise me if they swept our Tigers.
