Since April 17, Riley Greene ranks tied for 7th in MLB with a .997 OPS! Here are A.J. Hinch's postgame comments last night on Greene, Flaherty, Baez and more as the Tigers became the first team to reach the 30-win mark in 2025.

Riley Greene really getting on heater now
320/393/620 in May
5 HR
14 RBI
5 BB
and looking more locked in every night.

Tarik Skubal in his last 6 starts:
4-0
37 IP
0.97 ERA

At 30-15, the 2025 Detroit Tigers are having their best start to a season through 45 games since 2006, when they started 31-14.

If Javy hits this pitch consistently for a single, let alone a home run, the league is in trouble. He has shown that he can hit the mistake pitch breaking balls.

Before this game; Javier Báez ranks 9th in the AL with a .309 avg. (min. 130 PA) and tied for 9th with 27 RBI. Dating back to 4/26, he's batting .368 with a 1.179 OPS, 5 HR, and 23 RBI. Over that span he's tied for the MLB lead in RBI and ranks 7th in OPS.

The Tigers organization has a .600 winning percentage right now. 125-83 overall.
DET: 30-15
TOL:21-22
ERIE: 23-14
WM: 24-13
LKD: 21-15
FCL: 6-4

The Tigers have scored 249 runs so far this season, ranking 2nd in the AL behind only the Yankees (256). It marks our highest run total over the first 45 games of a season in 31 years, since scoring 256 runs at this point in 1994.

Parker Meadows is traveling with the Tigers on their current road trip in Toronto, and the outfielder is scheduled to throw from the outfield to the bases in pre-game drills today.
Manager A.J. Hinch told Jeff Seidel of the Detroit Free Press and other reporters that Meadows’ ability to throw is “the last step for him to hopefully get him to a rehab assignment soon,” and the club will monitor how Meadows’ arm is feeling tomorrow. Meadows has missed the entire season due to a musculocutaneous nerve problem in his right arm, and his placement on the 60-day injured list will keep him off Detroit’s roster until May 26 at the earliest.
Given the long layoff and Hinch’s observation that Meadows “doesn’t have to be fully 100% back throwing wise to go on a rehab assignment,” it would seem like the outfielder will need quite a few games in the minors to get up to full readiness, so a June return seems more likely.
While the 30-15 Tigers have baseball’s best record even without their starting center fielder, the club will be even stronger with a healthy Meadows, a superb defender who was also an offensive sparkplug during Detroit’s late-season surge in 2024.

Poor at bat by Nido., Runner in 3rd 1 out and could not drive him in sadly. McKinstry could not pick him up.

Olson frustrated after long lead off at bat walk..Gets lucky on 3-1 count to 2nd hitter as he swings at ball 4. Pops out .
Pitchers best friend. 4-6-3 dp.

I wish AJ would explain why Tork is batting so low in the lineup. Batting him 5th/6th cheats him out of an at bat probably every other game. He should be 2nd or 3rd. At the very least 4th. Seeing guys like Malloy, Colt, McKinstry, Ibanez etc in front of him every day is maddening
