GAME 50 - Detroit Tigers vs Cleveland Guardians, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, 6:40 PM

None of his pitches were over the heart of the plate. Cleveland just knows how to hit. Ok, you edited out the heart of the plate part.
It was still a poor pitch 1-2. It caught the corner. Why give in with
Anything Close . Dumb pitch.
Great piece of hitting. We don’t have any hitters that can do that.

Whoever has options left should be sent out

Short Dfa
Perez
Jones Dfa
McKinstry
Rogers Dfa
DeJesus

These guys soon.
Holton
Vest
Lee
Workman

Yes, he should have just thrown a strike that missed the bat.
All I'm saying is ahead in the count (1-2] you do not have to give in.
If it’s a 3-2 count. It’s different. Looking at the replay that batter was stitting on that pitch Holton threw there. Crushed it to right field.
Why not brush him back. That pitch from Holton just hasn’t worked for him this year. He is now 0-4

With all the Cleveland lefty hitters would Holton been better served in the 9th over Vest ? Im just asking ?

Frustrating loss.

Wouldn't surprise me if Vest goes on the DL again. Holton is toast.

Guardians 3 - Tigers 2 (F/10): One run is never enough.

Tigers had 1-0 lead in ninth inning but lose to Guardians again.
The Tigers blew a ninth-inning lead, falling 3-2 in 10 innings to the Guardians on Wednesday at Comerica Park.
Tigers let lead slip away in latest loss to Guardians: 'It's not going good'.
It's not there yet, but with every loss, the 2026 season is moving closer to a recovery mission than a rescue mission for the Tigers.
"We're not playing good baseball right now and I think we all know that," said catcher Jake Rogers after the Cleveland Guardians stuck another dagger into the Tigers' collective heart, stealing a 3-2 win in 10 innings at Comerica Park Wednesday night. "I feel like we maybe seem calm, but we're playing tight. We're not playing loose like we normally do.

Tigers waste great Drew Anderson start with late choke vs Guardians.
The Detroit Tigers were victims of Guards Ball once again.

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY.
Totally Tigers

The Detroit Tigers are picking up speed in the loss department. So far in the month of May, they have 4 wins and 12 losses. There are concerns with the rotation, bullpen, offense and defense.
The latter ranks last in MLB. One-third of their regular lineup is hitting under .200. Only 1 current starting pitcher has an ERA under .300 and only 1 pitcher (IL excluded) has a WHIP under 1.00.
Problems almost always have multiple factors involved but which group is most to blame for the Tigers’ lackluster season and extended losing streak so far?

Which group is most to blame for the Tigers' extensive losing streak and lackluster play?

1. Scott Harris (roster)

2. A. J. Hinch and his coaches (managing/coaching)

3. The players (level of talent, approach to game)

4. Lots of injuries

VOTE

I'm going with 1.

I went with #1 as well but it was close, as all 4 are intertwined.

Tigers have 11 blown saves this year.

2nd worse in MLB.
This team is so poorly constructed.
