Game #53: Cleveland Guardians @ Detroit Tigers, Saturday May 24, 2025, 7:15 Pm

Big difference between Cleveland and Detroit .

Going into tonight.

Tigers offense……………….456 K’s……..5th in MLB.
Cleveland offense………391 K’s……….24th in MLB

Tigers 9th

Malloy K’s ( cant hold his check ) batting .198 now
Vierling F-8
Baez K’s. (Badly)

bottom of the 9th went as expected. For all the energy with Baez hitting for a while, he has completely cooled off this week.

That was such a bad angle by Greene. I thought he would get to that easy. Was it a bad angle ?

Cleveland puts the ball in play. Especially with 2 strikes.
We do not. It’s pretty embarrassing.

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND Our 1-2 count pitching ?
Why are we not using the count. It makes no sense.

Embarrassing AJ. Pathetic weekend all the way around. Embarrassing only 4 hits. Flat out embarrassing.

Wish we could get Sac Flys.
We do get sac flys. What we don't get is anything better than that. Remember our last rallies, with players scoring on sac flies, gidp's, and other rally killers. We can't sustain anything.

As for Javy, I noticed that he was doing a good job of laying off most pitches out of the zone during his streak, and his hits were coming on strikes. He has reverted back to his old form this week.

Rogers is w

not recently we have not. We can’t get anyone in from 3rd and less than 2 outs.

Rogers batting .160 now. At least Nido could put some balls in play.

2 pitch Worthless at bats by Keith and greene

Keith strike again with yet another crappy 1 pitch at bat.
Greene 1 pitch grounds out.

Pathetic at bats.

Clase has been giving up hits and runs this year. Not as dominant and the approach is to swing on the 1st pitch.

Im frustrated.

You can tell Cleveland is locked in and we are not. We play so damn a lazy. Greene looks way off. Im convinced that was a poor angle he took in the 10th. He k’s so damn much. He looks gimpy to me all the time. I bet why they want to keep him out of center field.

To many double clutching to make pitch counts go up. Just terrible 2 strike hitting. Or hitting in general. Hell we only had 6 his tonight. Look I know Cleveland K’s less then we do but when we are ahead in the count we just don’t seem to be using it at all.

Greene is 0 for 9, with 5 strikeouts this series. Colt Keith is 1 for 13, with 4 k's. Carpenter is 3 for 9 with 3 strikeouts, but he was pulled in late innings at least twice. Tork is 1 for 11, with 6 k's. McKinstry is 0 for 8, with 1 strikeout. Malloy is 0 for 3, with 1 k. Sweeney is 1 for 9, with 3 k's. Rogers is 0 for 7, with 2 k's. Torres, Dingler, and Baez are a hair better; less strikeouts, and around 4 or 5 hits between the three of them. The offense needs to change its approach. edit: I missed Ibanez; 0 for 5.
