Angels 10 - Tigers 6: Late inning implosion dooms Detroit once again.
For a hot minute it looked like they might actually win this.

Tigers hear boos after loss on grand slam: 'We are all frustrated'.
The Tigers have spent the better part of the last three years building a winning culture and nurturing a renewed love affair with the city and the fan base. So to hear the boos floating down from the remnants of a crowd of 21,954 at Comerica Park after another tough loss Tuesday night, well, it felt like salt in the wound.
"It's part of it," manager AJ Hinch said after the Tigers gave up a grand slam home run to Vaughn Grissom in a five-run eighth inning to lose, 10-6, to the Los Angeles Angels. "We come to the ballpark every day to win the game and we were in position again and we couldn't get to the finish line. I know everyone is frustrated inside the building and everyone is frustrated outside the building.

Tigers back to losing ways as bullpen implodes with grand slam in 8th.
Detroit Tigers starter Keider Montero didn’t have his best outing, but his offense did just enough to put him in line for the win.
And then the bullpen let the Los Angeles Angels blow it open in the eighth inning, leading to another Tigers loss.
On the strength of a five-run eighth inning, the Angels beat the Tigers, 10-6, on Tuesday, May 26, at Comerica Park in Detroit. Tigers reliever Will Vest gave up the big blow – a two-out, go-ahead grand slam to Angels first baseman Vaughn Grissom that turned a 6-5 Tigers lead to a 9-6 Angels lead.

WATERCOOLER WEDNESDAY.
Totally Tigers

The Detroit Tigers current win-loss record for May is almost identical to their September 2025 performance when they lost a 15.5 game lead. So far this season, only the month of April has seen them over .500 – but by just 1 game.
So far in May, the Tigers have gone 5-17, posting a .227 record (through Monday’s games).
In April – the only winning month – the team had 11 players on the IL. Most of them secondary players with the biggest names being Javy Baez and Casey Mize. In May, Mize returned but Tarik Skubal, Kerry Carpenter and Gleyber Torres were added to the IL.
Currently, this year’s roster has these players on the IL:
– 5 relievers
– 2 starting pitchers (Skubal, Verlander)
– 3 regular positional players (Baez, Torres, Meadows)
– 2 bench players
On April 30th, the Tigers were in 2nd place, a half game out of 1st. Just over 3 weeks later, they are in last place, 10 games out and the 2nd worst team in the AL.
What is the primary cause of their free fall? Is it due to injuries or is it due to insufficient talent?

What is the primary reason for the Tigers' free fall?

1. Injuries.

2. Lack of talent.

VOTE

Every team has injuries. It is the lack of talent.

So radio show 97.1 fm said Perez made sure to let everyone Know he hit a homer last night. I don’t use instagram so I can’t find it.
Talk about not reading the room.

Buddy you misplayed a fly ball that was the 3rd out of the inning.
It cost 4 runs. ..Your team lost 10-6. No one cares about your homer in a loss.

Plus was is Dirks going in and on about Tork’s missed grand slam homer last night? Yeah it sucked Andy but it’s not like Torkelson is good with the bases loaded ever. He K’d 4 times. Man we need him to wake up.

I missed the Vierling lazy play. He should been removed.
AJ did it to Baez didnt he ? I forget

I remember that. Baez was running the bases and he thought there were 2 outs, but there was only 1.

145 minor league innings and he has a 4.94 ERA and 1.54 WHIP. He should fit right in

We are defiantly getting swept. No use in waiting to confirm. Start selling em all off
