Tyler Holton lacking the elite command this year. Very valuable for 2 years via high quality strike throwing with a deep mix of pitches. Nothing overpowering. 1st pitch strike at 54.6% vs. 64.4% for his career. Needs that precision to attack and get quick balls in play back.
That's just how it goes if you don't have big time swing and miss stuff. Holton still isn't walking many, but falling behind and getting into deep counts is harder when you don't have big time stuff in your quiver. Hopefully they can get him fully locked in again.

Josue Briceno has 13 HR in his last 115 AB.

Here are Tuesday's top prospect performances from the Minors. Briceno and Liranzo here.

Sawyer Gipson-Long returns to a very different Tigers team than he left.
The right-hander has looked pretty good in his rehab work, but it’s wise to keep expectations in check for now.
BYBTB

Skubal is pushed back a day from the white sox to pitch in the Tigers - cubs series.

The whole Minor league system is just fantastic right now.
Every team is over .500 by at least 8 games.

Meadows went 3-3 with a double and homer vs this guy last year. Went 0-3 with 2 k's vs tomorrow's starter. AJ is just too obsessed with lefty/righty and righty/lefty matchups sometimes. Also Vierling needs to get back again so I don't have to see Ibanez anymore.

Frustrating Detroit teams can't seem to stay away from the Injury bug. Now Rainer hurt his shoulder. Dang.

Just saw Carpenter is out due to tightness in his hamstring.

Erie just lost the lead in top of the 9th 6-5 to a two out homer. .
But runners on 1st and 3rd with 2 strikes Liranzo singles to tie game up 6-6 in bottom of the 9th. Then Jake Holton singles in the winning run. Walk off 7 to 6 win For Erie.

Erie won 7-6 walk off back to back singles . See above.
Toledo lost 5-2.
Wm lost 4-1 snapping 9 game winning streak.
Lakeland is now losing 6-3 late.
