Minor league Update June 8th, 2025.
Toledo Mudhens (35-28) win a slugfest at (26-34) Columbus 11-9 Final. Mudhens had 11 hits. Workman had 3 hits and his 5th homer. Toledo used 7 pitchers . Still -3.5 games behind Nashville. Plus 2 teams in between. Time is running short.

============================
Erie Seawolves (38-19) winning streak over Richmond is over .
Second game by a 11-9 score. Seawolves had 13 hits but yhe pitching was not good. Seven pitchers and 7ks ans 7 bb means your team probably loses. Holton had a big day. Liranzo 3 BB and 3 runs.
Akron was rained out, so they still trail by -1.5.

==============================.===.
West Michigan Whitecaps (38-19) slide continues as they lose again to Lake County 6-4 Sunday . 3rd in a row at home., Clark’s average is down to .257 as he was 0-5. So was McGonigle. Team is really struggling. They ended up going 2-4 at home against LC.
Lansing crushed Dayton so they are exactly 5 games behind the caps and they 6 game series starts in Lansing Tuesday. Magic # is still 5 games. Hopefully they wake up and start winning again.

MONDAY MUSINGS.
Totally Tigers

Today, it’s about quick hits – bits of news that catch my radar during the week as well as connecting the dots re ongoing stories. Even the quirky.
So let’s get to it! Here are the most interesting topics that hit my radar over the past week………..

Great throw Kerry!!! I remember people saying he was a horrible defender. Ive never once felt that way watching him in right
I think he was a below average defensive OF. He has gotten better. I think he's probably average now

I wonder if Greene is playing with a back injury of some sort. He's running like an 70 year old
It's funny, when running or jogging, he looks like the most unathletic athlete I have seen in a while. When he first came up and was playing CF, I thought he was great. It took me a while to understand that he was making all of those diving catches because he was slow, and had to dive

Jack Flaherty in his last 5 starts:
30.1 Innings Pitched
6 Earned Runs
35 Strikeouts

American League RBI Leaders
1. Devers (57)
2. Judge (55)
3. Raleigh (53)
T-4. Ward (45)
T-4. Torkelson (45)
T-6. Greene (44)
T-6. Soderstrom (44)
Detroit’s young duo has been getting it done this season.

FORTUNE FAVORS THE BOLD.
Totally Tigers

Detroit Tiger fans continue to wrap their minds around this stupendous, startling season. It’s probably the biggest surprise we’ve seen since that 35-5 start back in 1984.
But we really should have seen it coming. All because of this proverb:
Fortune favors the bold.
Because that is exactly what the Tigers have been doing in earnest since October 2022.
The proverb is about taking risks and stepping outside of comfort zones. Making bold moves. Ditching old patterns.
Habits that end up creating success.
And that’s exactly what this franchise started doing.
They’ve done it before in the past.
