It's difficult to say. I think they probably need a starter to get them through the regular season. I don't see any top end starter that is out there that could help them in the playoffs (without costing an arm and a leg). BP arms are always a good thing. They could use a 3B, but I don't know if any would be a significant improvement from what Vierling gives you.SATURDAY SURVEY.![]()

All teams are currently assessing where they may be at the end of July as well as their potential needs. As we all know, rosters are very fluid with drops in performance as well as injuries that determine additional changes and additions.
The Tigers’ needs have changed since the beginning of the year.
But what is their biggest need as they hope to compete in October?
What is the Tigers' biggest need at the trade deadline?
1. Starting pitching
2. Relief pitching
3. Infield
4. Outfield
