SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

A recent article contained a survey interviewing anonymous Front Office executives. Some of them believe that the Red Sox may be open to trading Alex Bregman whom they just acquired this year.
Bregman turned down the Tigers who had a better offer for a contract paying him $40 mill/year with an opt out after this year and next.

Bregman and his agent, Scott Boras have told Boston they are open to signing a long-term extension but no deal has been done yet. To complicate matters, Alex has been on the IL since mid-May with another hamstring injury – his 4th. He will not return until after the All-Star game at the earliest.

These Front Office execs believe that if a deal can’t get done by the trade deadline, the Red Sox will look to move Bregman. The Tigers and Mariners are the 2 teams named the most as eventual landing spots.

In the meantime, the Tigers have moved Colt Keith back to 3B and Matt Vierling has returned so their needs at the hot corner are not as dire. However, Bregman is a plus defender and a much-needed RHB.
Should the Tigers trade for him if he becomes available? Even though he is likely to opt out after this year?
Is playing deep into October a worthy reason to make this move?

Should the Detroit Tigers trade for Alex Bregman?

1. Yes.

2. No.

VOTE

I'm scared of Bregman's Hammy. I'm unsure what to say. Maybe if the price isn't to steep. I'd rather go after Chapman if he is available.

Did you vote on the totally tigers Saturday Survey? I wouldn't want Bregman for half of that price. He will opt out at the end of this year.
I'm not sure I would want an almost 38 year old Chapman either. He hasn't been super dominant in years.
Our minor league system has depth in many places and I want to keep them and build through that.
