Game #94: Tampa Bay Rays @ Detroit Tigers, Wednesday July 9th, 2025, 5:10 Pm

Embarrassing. 0-2 pitch to lose the damn lead. Lets spin a damn ball right over the heart of the plate 2 inches high.
Sigh why throw that good of a pitch?

1 strike away from getting out of the inning 3-3.
No reason to be anywhere near the zone on a 0-2 pitch unless you throw 97 or higher. Lee just is a spinner.

Guess this should help Harris go out and get some bullpen pieces.

Tying run they attacked his 1st or 2nd pitch (my reception is poor) Meadows was shallow or was it crushed my phone frozen.

It carried farther than it initially looked like it would.

I guess aj is just giving up on this game. Chase back out for another inning and immediately gives up a homer

I wish that Riley would develop a backup strategy that would enable him to stroke a line drive somewhere in a pressure situation. He just strikes out too much to feel good when he is up in a crucial situation.

Tigers have been poor it seems with bases loaded lately .

Meadows and Vierling have to start hitting.

Had a 3-2 lead in the 6th too.
I had mlb tv on the other night, and Harold Reynolds said flat out that he thought that if we faced them in the playoffs, they would win, because they have the speed and the ability to push across runs, and we rely too much on the big hit. He can be a bit rash at times, but he has a point. When Riley came up with the bases loaded, I felt that it would probably end the inning with a strikeout. Thus far this season, Riley has 22 homers, and at least 123 strikeouts, and when the pressure ramps up, it is usually going to be the latter, even for Aaron Judge. Tampa Bay has a lot of young, fast players, and 4 of them In today’s lineup were hitting over .300, if you look at ops, the back half of their lineup just blows away ours, which has three players that haven’t got it together yet this season.

I doubt if Meadows and Vierling are playing like this that they will start in the playoffs.
