Game #96: Seattle Mariners @ Detroit Tigers, Saturday July 12th 1:10 Pm

Shame we have such a crappy pen.

11-7 after McKinstry 2 run homer to right.

Holy cow did the bottom of the order just get 2 hits !

Shouldn’t you pinch hit Rogers ? He K’s badly and looking.
And fails with a runner on 3rd to even put the damn. All in play.
What a bad at bat by Jake.

Reminds me of 1984, Tigers were cruising...35-5 (I attended wins 33, 34, 35 in Anaheim). I came back to Michigan to visit family, Tigers went up to Seattle...and promptly got their asses kicked in.

Don't mind losing to these bums....so long as history repeats itself ; )

Freaking Torres and Perez fail to drive any runs in and see few pitches.
With the bases loaded in a 11-7 game.
So we have struggle a bunch again with a runner on 3rd and less then 1 out.

Even Tommy cant stop the Seattle hit parade. Sigh
Back to Back to back hits.

We can’t get anyone out.

Which position player will have to finish the game pitching? Oh, never mind; we will throw Hernandez in, despite him pitching how many pitches about 18 hours ago? Edit- only 14 pitches.

That will be on salty clubhouse after today’s game.
It better be.

Now real roster construction and talent evaluation decisons loom..Briceno's hitting talent is very real and his readiness is very very soon..he plays 1B/DH..every team will ask for him in a deal ..Mike Elias failed this test..it will define the Harris legacy.

There really is a roster crunch coming and there is a bit of a logjam. I'm moving a guy or two from the major league roster in the off-season. The trade deadline, could see a Max Anderson, Jace Jung, Troy Melton, Hao Yu Lee plus going.

Minor League update Saturday July 12th, 2025

Toledo Mudhens (49-43) (10-7) second half.
Three game winning streak. Tonight it was a 7-6 Final.
Malloy was 3 for 5 with 5 RBIs without a homer. He is batting .324,now and could get a call up soon the way Meadows and Vierling are playing.

Tigers 32-19 ( lost 1)
Jays 29-22 (won 1)

Hopefully they can hold on and make the playoffs. They lead division by 3 games. Last year they made playoffs on a tiebreaker for the wildcard and ended up smashing its way to the championship.
I didn’t even know . Sorry I missed it.

Im sure Ron may find more but AL all stars lost in the future game 4-2.
Three run Homer did the AL in.

Tiger Prospects did ok.

TIGERS -- Kevin McGonigle, SS (DET No. 1/MLB No. 7): Recently promoted to Double-A, the 37th pick from the 2023 Draft went hitless in two at-bats, flying out both times. Max Clark, OF (DET No. 2/MLB No. 12): The game's second-ranked outfield prospect walked and stole second base in the first and singled in the third to set up the game's first run. Josue Briceño, C (DET No. 4/MLB No. 58): Serving as the AL's designated hitter, Briceño tripled and scored in the fourth, finishing 1-for-3 overall.
