It is obvious that Kanle is no longer effective because his change up is not working. He has been the direct cause of a couple losses lately. He needs help. What is up with Riley Greene. Greene leads the MLB in strike outs with 127 while only walking 27 times. His at bats have been terrible, swinging at unhittable pitches and looking at strikes right down the middle. It is disturbing.

It is disturbing.

Greene has the highest launch angle in MLB, and that means that if his timing is just a tiny bit off, it ends up being a popup or ground out, and if it is just a bit more than that, a strikeout. It's a simple matter of the bat moving through the hitting zone at a more severe angle than anyone else, which magnifies mistakes. He also doesn't appear to see the ball as well as some of the really great contact hitters (or perhaps that is simply a reflection of the launch angle as well). Given all that, even with a fair amount of home runs and doubles, when you factor in all the swings and misses, it doesn't pay to pitch around him, so he gets few base-on-balls.
