I've been aware of the countdown, but I'm trying to ignore it so it doesn't drag so much. My wife has a running countdown in the house for us.

yeah, we celebrated Day 100 at our house ... Looking at the Colorado game, maybe Wisky or Homecoming and then the Bowl (hopefully ..yeah, right ...there will be a Bowl game).

I'm doing Colorado and Wisky as well.

My best friend is originally from Denver so we have always promised each other that we'd go to the Big House if Colorado ever visited again after 1997. All of the past games took place before either of us had a driver's license, so getting to the game from Indiana is just a bit easier meow.

My Senior year at UM was the 1994 Hail Mary and though I'd grown up in Denver and had gone to a couple CU games as a kid, was definitely a Wolverine. Then I moved back to CO ...moved to Boulder, and had a full year of "did you see the Hail Mary play?!"

Taking a year off between, UM came to Boulder in Fall 1996 and won this time on a failed Hail Mary pass from Koy Detmer that bounced on the turf in the endzone... The clouds opened up right as the game ended and it poured rain on the walk home.

Then in 1997 CU came back to A2 and didn't cross midfield until the 3rd quarter - Sporting News had CU as the pre-season #1 (questionable even to diehard CU fans then) ...

I have quite a few friends and CU Alumni who are going back for the game - might be a lot of Black and Gold on the golf course but to a person, none are expecting much of a competitive game. Including the President of my firm, who interviewed me under a time lapse framed picture of the Hail Mary.

God I hate that Hail Mary so much. 2nd most god awful moment in sports fandom at that point in my life. C-Webb of course taking a triumphant 1st place with his timeout in 1993.

I don't expect a competitive game either (CU doesn't even have a QB), but we all love Ann Arbor. Plus, my buddy's wife has never been to the Big House so I'll get to make sophomoric jokes about popping his wife's cherry all weekend. Hooray being grown up!

that seems like the sort of joke that will get old quick, and go south in a hurry, esp. with drinking involved.

please update us on how many times you use the joke before your buddy pops you in the mouth after the game.

That's not how our friendship works. We have been friends since we were seven and mess with each other all of the time. Neither one of us has ever been upset with the other in our 26 years of being friends. Especially over a joke.

I'm not doubting this part, it's just that wives/girlfriends tend to not find those sort of jokes quite as amusing, and then you're either siding with your wife, or sleeping on the couch.

Luckily, my wife will not care one bit. She is laid back about this stuff and our wives are friends anyway.

His wife always laughs whenever I suggest anal as the cure for anything she complains about.
