Michigan vs Illinois BTT edition

That is a stupid tiebreaker. So State could have gone 10-21 overall and still would have had a higher seed? See how ****ing stupid that would look?

Not bitching at you

I get your view. On the flip side though, a team could have scheduled a bunch of non conference cream puffs to inflate their overall record and thus hold the tiebreaker that way. There's not a perfect solution to tiebreakers any way you look at it.

Whoever had to endure TV Teddy as a referee the most often wins all tiebreakers.

Its kind of important though that Sparty doesnt have to play Purdue their 2nd game of the tournament. Because in this case you have a team(UM) that is clearly playing better than the other 2 10-8 teams and they do have the better overall record and they are getting ****ed hard. And if you look at the standings in the Big10 conference, the team with the better overall record is always placed higher when conference records are tied. Now, if everyone had the same record overall, the records against each other would make total sense as the next tie-breaker.
