Michigan vs NW

Yeah, impact freshman is definitely a stretch for Simpson, but he's had some impactful moments. Defensively obviously, but he also has a much better feel for when and how to feed big men than anyone else on the roster. I'm beginning to get comfortable with the idea of him running the offense next year. If impact sophomore is a thing, I think he could be that.

And Bob, I know it's probably annoying that my pet peeve is how you react to your pet peeve, but the free throw thing...If you can complain about free throws when watching the best free throw shooting team in the history of Michigan basketball, doesn't that tell you something? No matter what, teams are going to miss free throws, and no matter what, it will impact games. So what value does it add in pointing it out every time? It's like complaining about water being wet. "God damn this water, every time it touches me, it gets me wet. If water wasn't wet, I would stay dry on every single one of my showers. But no, I get wet every time. Scientists really need to pull their heads out of their asses and figure out a way to make water unwet so I can take some fricking dry showers."

Yet sadly it cost us 2 games for sure Minnesota and Northwestern. The bad part is that in the Minnesota game I think walton missed 4 free throws. If you want me to not mention them again I will try but it's not like I am the only one mentioning free throws. They are easy to make .. Just go as Drummond lol ;)

Jerry Palm said Michigan is in no matter what after beating Purdue . I guess there is a big difference between 19-13 and 18-14. But another win would make it less of a sweat on Sunday. It would be nice to win a few games in the BTT. I sort of hope we miss O$u in the first game. They pretty much tore us up on the inside when we played them. That was a bad loss.

I just worry about Illinois bumping us now. If we lose on Sunday (it's on the road so it's likely) and they beat Butgers, then we are both sitting at 19-12 overall and 9-9 in conference.

Lunardi dropped us to a 9 seed and has us matched up against South Carolina in the first round. I would rather not relive that pounding and I doubt the committee would want the rematch.

For what it's worth Lunardi still has Michigan as a #9 seed as of today (coincidentally playing South Carolina again). Illinois isn't even in the "first four out" category they are in the "next 4 out".

Michigan can beat Nebraska. They've gone 3-10 in conference play since starting 3-0. No excuses JB and company!

Ha, I don't want you to stop because I want you to stop, I was hoping my water joke would do the trick!

I am with you on the Minnesota game, it was jarring to see Walton and to a lesser extent MAAR go 1-4, and to get outshot against that team in an OT game was a blow. But I don't think you can put last night on free throws. NW was further off their FT % for the season than UM was.

It's Nebraska's senior day and we suck at winning on the road. Makes me nervous.

NW shot the ball way better than the normally do. They are the second worst shooting team in the conference. Ahead of only Butgers and they shot 53% against us.

From the field, yeah. I don't think anyone is claiming that UM's FG % defense is any good.

Somehow Michigan will have to overcome the glorious tradition and pageantry of Nebraska basketball's senior day!

Well their best player is a senior and his teammates will want to send him out with a win. I'm not claiming they have some great tradition, but we SUCK on the road.

2 wins, an OT loss, and a buzzer beater loss in the last 4 road games. If you want to include how they played months ago, yeah, they pretty much suck. But if you look at how they're playing now, they've been decent on the road, and I'm sure will be favored to win by both the computers and vegas.

You're way more positive than me. 2 wins are against IU and Butgers who are 12th and 14th in the conference standings.

We're staying close on the road, but we need to actually get the job done on Sunday.

Well, they are playing the 11th place team (who actually has the worst overall record in the league) so I think the data set makes sense.

That's true. I know we can win the game. Been a frustrating year on the road and it makes me negative.

The close losses are frustrating to me. Virginia Tech by three at home. The two games in overtime at Iowa and Minnesota. Two freshmen at Iowa scored 28 points and tore us up sadly. Maybe we get bumped to the play in game if we go 19-13 so maybe a win or two going foward would help!!!!!
