New power rankings

I think Baltimore should be #1. They absolutely drubbed the Steelers. While GB won, their defense looked horrible doing it. Lions are about right. I'd probably put the Colts and Chiefs last too. They both looked awful.

My guess is...

GB is #1 until they lose
NE is #2 because Brady is the media's boy and he put up some ridiculous stats
Philly has gotten a ton of hype so they'll stick around near the top barring a loss

From a media-love standpoint, I can see why they're 4th.

Dolphins > Jags, Cards, Gmen, Raiders, Skins, Rams, Chiefs, 9ers, Colts, Queens, and Titans. Their defense couldn't keep up with the Pats but imagine if any of these teams had to play the Pats week 1...

I agree about the dolphins.

Ravens defense didn't look that great if you take away the turnovers. Steelers moved the ball pretty easy and would just kill themself with a TO. But good defenses create TOs I guess so who knows, week 1 to early to tell. But id have ravens at 3 after the pats right now.

And maaan the bills get no love lol.

I still don't really get the purpose of power rankings. I mean exactly what are they based on other than personal opinion? At the end of the season the only thing that matters is a record that gets the team into the postseason.

That's all they are, they don't mean anything just a point of conversation. Something to debate for the fun of it.

Man, some of those rankings are so off it's not even funny. The Jests won the game with Romo's help and they move up? They now have one of the best "bail a mediocre qb out" receivers in the league..............whatever, they shouldn't have moved from their previous spot.

Even though the Steelers lost I feel like this needs to be posted..

Even with 7 turnovers they still gave up about 350yrds of offense. But like I said a good defense creates the turnovers.

I'd prefer we win more than one game before they put us that high. I mean, where would they put us if we won the next three games (which are realistically winnable)? I'd like to see where they put us after we play two legitimate playoff teams. Chicago is too spastic for me. You don't know if you're playing a shutdown defensive team or if Cutler is gonna have the worst game of the year from week to week. Those jokers were too high after one game.

Stats show that we are the #2 team in overall offense and defense coming out of week one away win against a good bucs team. I think that being ranked in the top ten could be warrented.

Yeah it is, but my train of thought is that while most of the top ten have done it from year to year, this is more of a first for us, and we haven't built up any consistency, only because it's the start of the season. We certainly have shown (in flashes of game 1) that we are good enough to be there. What a weird and good feeling it is to have a winning expectation lol

I don't see how the Steelers should be ahead of the Lions after getting spanked the way they did. If the Lions had lost to the Bucs 34-7 or something they'd be in the bottom 10 no question. Didn't know reputation was part of the power rankings criteria.

I know what you are saying, but we have won five in a row now.
