Saturday's game vs. Oakland may be blacked out due to Braves and Mets game on Fox taking national priority. (no local games will be broadcasted at same time) Normally this is just unfortunate, but the Tigers could possibly win the division title then and we would all miss it.

I'd be surprised if the Tigers didn't win the division before Saturday.

I have to agree, they can't lose even when Penny pitches. Regardless of Cleveland, I think we win tonight and tomorrow to clinch.

nonissue, they'll clinch today...(night of Sept 15th...)

I actually hope they don't. That would mean Texas beats Cleveland. With the division title pretty much in hand, I am rooting against Texas now (even against the Indians) to secure home field advantage.

Yeah, it's been annoying to see the FSD guys cheering for Texas the last couple days.

all that has to happen is a Tiger victory tonight. I don't care what Cleveland or Chicago do.

(I know technically, it will be after midnight EST, but it will still be today where the Tigers are.)

I agree with the Tiger announcers (Rod and Mario right?). The Tigers have the lead over Texas right now anyway, and after 2009, I would just as soon see the division championship in the bank before I begin to worry about anything else.

Not that I'm all that worried.

Oh yeah, and Go Tigers!!!

Mathematically, in order for a Tiger win to clinch the championship tonight (technically at the end of play for games started on Thursday, September 15th, 2011) Cleveland does have to lose.

And currently Cleveland trails Texas 6-0, in the Texas 6th innning (game being played in Texas.

Hungry, why don't you come post on the Tiger board? There are plenty of posters who post there that I've seen you interface with on the Michigan board, and I would be glad to introduce you to everybody else.

I was thinking more about the guys in the studio. Yes, Detroit has a 1 game lead on Texas. If Cleveland would have swept, it would be 4 games on Texas and a 10 game lead on Cleveland, with 12 games to go. You don't think that would be a better situation for Detroit?

Yahoo has it wrong. According to their standings yesterday, the magic number was 1. Even if you go over there now and check, it says that the Tigers have a magic number of 0.

Thank goodness the Tigers are 14 games up on the Indians right now, and not 12 or 13!!
