Peppers 5th in Heisman vote..

IMO he should be there because he can do so much. He was all over the field. Just give to a QB, year after year after year..

Offensively, he didn't do a thing. Yeah, he's a very good defensive player. But I'd argue he's not the 2nd or 3rd best player on the team in defense.

He took one punt back. If you want to win the heisman as a do-it-all guy, you better do it all and do it damn well.

"It was a tremendous experience. Hopefully I can do it again."

Maybe if they stuck him at one position his stats would show up more. Can't be easy moving around all the time..

Well...defense is a team thing...if Heisman balloters wanna pick a defensive player to be a finalist they can...but defense is a team thing...

So is offense of course...

Heisman only counts if your team's player wins it. Anytime else it's a crock of shit and all hype.

Heisman has only counted three times.

I totally understand that. And I have nothing against Jabrill, he's fantastic. But I think the hype machine carried him to ballot. He's a very good defensive player and all-around dude. But he's not great in coverage and he overruns a ton of plays (Iowa most notably). I think there were more deserving candidates (Pumphrey, Browning).

Well, I agree with you on the hype machine - I guess the 5 finalist award show has become a pretty big money maker for ESPN...because they've been doing that for a long time.

As far as over running a ton of plays, I don't know anything about that. I've seen him make those highlight reel tackles, that people love to watch. I know I do.

I really wish they would've put those offensive plays in their back pocket for the last few games because by mid to late season they were very, very predictable.

He's a good player, but I don't put him on the top 5 of the country. He was not impressive on Offense and his returns were good but not great.

He has the ability to break one everytime, but what returner doesnt. Even if he came back next year I doubt he'd win it.

IMO he could use another year in college, but I think most players do. I'm sure he will bolt and get paid, just hope he doesn't bust.

I reeeally don't think there should have been 2 Oklahoma Sooners in the top 5. That shit is just ridiculous. What big games did these two idiots win? That's right, none. They beat shitty big 12 teams with no defense. Where were the guys from Washington? And I cant believe I'm saying this, but what about Barrett(I know he sucks but he won the big games), or even that kid from Alabama?

The right guy won it, I think, even though he faltered down the stretch. The receiver from Oklahoma is legit. The other three finalists seem to have been pre-ordained. Buckeye offense sputtered too badly in a few games, most notably The Game, for JT to have played his way in.

All 5 could have been changed out for another 5. No one was spectacular this year.

Just reading RCMB on him.

"If he's there in the second round, I wouldn't want the Lions taking him."

Haha. I am not as high on Peppers as some, but if he was there in the 2nd staring the Lions in the face, I'd ask for Quinn's head if he passed him up.

I think Jackson was spectacular.

3390 yards, 30 TDs passing plus 1538 yards and 21 TDs on the ground.

To put that into perspective, the Big 10 passing leader had 3360 yards & 25 TDs. The Big 10 leader in rushing had 1304 yards and 14 TDs.

Jackson's stats wouldn't have been that great if he had played in the big 10

Not saying that he wouldn't have good stats, but they would be a lot less against big 10 defenses...in my opinion.
