I was born at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital. It's gone now.

You know Byron, when I saw your post about Detroit Osteopathic Hospital, I can remember my mom saying that it was the hospital I was born in.

On this day in 1963, Detroit Red Wings' Gordie Howe scored his 544th goal to tie Maurice Richard, the all-time leader in career NHL goals at the time.

UPDATE: The #RedWings have assigned Michael Brandsegg-Nygard to the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins. ​

Not a surprise. 3 - 20 year old rookies being in the NHL the whole year was probably a far fetched idea. Still lots of potential.

Borrowing (somewhat) from a take from a local talk show guy, who had some valid points about this indecent being a black mark on the organization and on Larkin:

1. Captain of the Red Wings is a rare distinction (that has been awarded to 4 men in last 40 years) ... parens my observation.
2. Larkin is a home-grown player who went to Michigan.
3. He's not good enough to demand a trade.
4. But he must have cause to demand one, given points 1, 2, and 3.
5. Who else wants out of Detroit?
