Random Red Wings Notes

Might as well add this here.

UPDATE: The #RedWings have assigned Michael Brandsegg-Nygard to the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins.

Not a surprise. 3 - 20 year old rookies being in the NHL the whole year was probably a far fetched idea. Still lots of potential.

Is Dylan Larkin a good captain or not?
It might be an unanswerable question, but these subpar Marches the Red Wings keep having under his watch cannot be ignored.

Dylan Larkin doesn't seem to care about his legacy in Detroit and it's a shame.
The Red Wings captain's trade request is short-sighted and has way more risk than possible reward. This will follow him forever.

Video NHL Now: Breaking News from Around the NHL. 4:40
The crew on NHL Now reacted to Dylan Larkin requesting a trade to the Panthers, Wild or Golden Knights. at the 1:40 mark of the video.

Borrowing (somewhat) from a take from a local talk show guy, who had some valid points about this indecent being a black mark on the organization and on Larkin:

1. Captain of the Red Wings is a rare distinction (that has been awarded to 4 men in last 40 years) ... parens my observation.
2. Larkin is a home-grown player who went to Michigan.
3. He's not good enough to demand a trade.
4. But he must have cause to demand one, given points 1, 2, and 3.
5. Who else wants out of Detroit?
