So, I guess they fired Sherrone today.

Racist old white guy Michigan fans are pretty stoked right now. "I told ya that the blacks are... BLA BLA BLA."

"He was a DEI hire!"

etc.

I'm just happy we fired a bad coach. and it will get our bad AD fired. And maybe we'll stop playing Mr. Brightside at home games. And maybe have less piped in music, period. But I doubt it.
can you find a single quote of a person saying anything remotely like that? I'm actually a little surprised you haven't called the university racist for firing Moore and encouraged him to sue. Seems like there's evidence to support the claim:

- Under a white coach, a player rapes a co-ed and his teammate threatens to rape her again if she talks. uofm coaches & admin sweep it under the rug until after he graduates and runs out of eligibility.
- Under a white coach, uofm commits recruiting violations, backs their coach's noncooperation
- Under a white coach, uofm commits one of the worst cheating scandals in decades and the school denies, obfuscates, etc. then issues self imposed suspension for the softest games on the schedule.
- Black coach gets a white girl pregnant in what appears to be a consensual, albeit inappropriate dalliance and the guy is fired almost immediately - they only covered it up long enough to give the team some chance at beating osu.

I have to say, when I was getting ready for work yesterday and all this sht was breaking, I mentioned that MgoBlow was seizing up. I sht you not, in that moment of my computer spinning, I saw in my head, Sherrone Moore Fired. I have no idea why, but my other thought after was......just because Michigan wanted a new coach. Then the header popped up and I almost sht my pants. This is all so crazy.
As far as knowing and what Warde knew......you gotta have proof. Do you think people in that department are just going to go to Warde and say, "hey man, Sherrone is banging an assistant."? Uh, not when your job is tied to the guy coaching. I hate Warde mor than most people here, but I am also level headed enough to know you gotta get your ducks in a row first or face lawsuit.

UM plays this song at every home game as basically an anthem to hype the crowd. Its a song about(and I wish I was making this up)..........cheating
I didn't realize they did this. Ha. Dumb people.

Isn't it really a song about being a cuck getting cheated on and coping with it without dumping the cheater? It's still fitting, probably more so if you consider how harbaugh cheated, took the goods and dumped uofm when he'd gotten what he wanted, and most uofm fans blame Ward Manuel. The song fits perfectly.
That's the college coach M.O. You fk it you go elsewhere.

Now wait a minute. He's talking about that "Blue Wall" that exists in the mind of every Spartan, and supposedly explains why not everyone else on the planet spends 90% of their waking hours hate-watching Michigan sports and trashing them online.

Or why every article written about UM, from a recap of a women's volleyball game, to a press release about the poli sci department hiring a new assistant dean, doesn't lead with the fact that OUTRAGEOUS SCANDALS and CORRUPT CULTURE have permeated Ann Arbor, Michigan since the dawn of time.

"This... Blue Wall. Is it in the room with us right now, Johnny?"

"Yes."

"And this is the same Blue Wall you said kept you from attending your first choice university after high school?"

"Yes."

"And what university was that again?
"

*SOBBING ECHOES DOWN THE HALLS*
Ok. I’m not versed in the jargon and nuance.

There were some Michigan-aligned posters on twitter who had tweeted stuff as early as December 1st that something ugly was coming involving Sherrone Moore, and they posted all their receipts of what they said and when. Who knows?

I said to a friend of mine last weekend that the Ernest Hausmann situation was a big red flag. I mean having a star LB just be "out - undisclosed reasons" for OHIO STATE of all games with no comment from the coaches was a sign something was wrong on the team.

Nicole Auerbach posted that the Athletic Department knew that Sherrone Moore was dealing with mental problems, and noting that Warde fired him alone, without HR or anyone else present (which is just like basic professional common sense).

I thought the Freep would have the best reporting on this - given their proximity to UM - but they seem to be cobbling things together from other sources.

CBS News reporting that things had been brewing for a while:

In recent days as word had begun to spread across college football that Michigan was investigating Moore, Michigan staffers had grown worried about their future. Manuel indicated to team staffers that at least part of the Moore investigation, which had become far from a secret internally, had been going on since mid-November, sources said.

Sounds like this was not a surprise to many (also from CBS/link):

Sherrone Moore's sudden firing by Michigan did not shock many in the industry, but the timing did.

"This was the worst-kept secret," one industry source told CBS Sports, echoing the sentiment of several others who said rumors of Moore's misconduct with a staff member had been rampant well before the termination became official.

and

A high-level Michigan booster told CBS Sports that Moore's conduct had been widely known inside the building. "Everybody in the program has known this the last two seasons," the booster said, adding that Schembechler Hall was "swarming with lawyers" earlier this month. The booster also expressed concern for those affected. "This is a sad day to see it come to this. I feel horrible for all the players, coaches and families who are going to be disrupted. And I don't know what becomes of Sherrone."

Warde was apparently out to lunch for all this.

And again, im having to defend this asshole, again. There was an investigation. That means he was doing his job. Now, when does the proof become irrefutable? Probably a little before signing day. Ah ha, being a smart person, you dont fire coach before signing day. You do it after. Now, the kids can ask to be let out of their LOI, but they cannot sign anywhere else. You have time to get in contact with them and let them know a new coach is comihg soon. After the signing of a coach, it will be the coaches responsibility to retain the class. This gives plenty of time instead of having the whole class walk like Penn St. Brilliant move on Warde's part.

I don't know I'd say that he was doing his job. I mean, he was doing the bare minimum.

If Warde had done his job, we wouldn't be here talking about this. We very well could be talking about our first round playoff matchup, because we would be 10-2 or even 11-1 instead of 9-3 with a coach who was trying to bang everything in a skirt, and not getting his team ready to play each week.

If Warde had done his job, he would've ensured that his coach - who apparently had such obvious mental issues that even program boosters were pointing it out to him - was getting the help he needs, and been put on short leash to ensure he wasn't going to spiral out of control.

Instead, he sat on this until the last minute. Doing an investigation is the minimum here. He should've recognized there was a problem with his HC and taken charge... even if that meant getting off his ass and being more hands on with the team.

The timing here doesn't matter to me. Keeping a handful of recruits happy, or at least unable to leave, is like 1/100th as important as having a competent coach at the helm. That should be fairly obvious at this juncture.

And I mean, this is after he couldn't keep Andrew Bakich as our baseball coach, he hired Juwan Howard (and that was a constant source of issues), he couldn't keep Jim Harbaugh here and didn't back him up through all the bullshit in 2023, and now this mess. And Moore probably shouldn't have been HC in the first place. We should've hired someone with actual HC experience. His two highest profile hires (Howard and Moore) have both been disastrous for the University.

I dont disagree. You have given me some thought, though. Remember, when we were all saying the team was totally unprepared at times. Like at thee most obvious of times, like wtf is going on? This would explain that. You also have given me thought that Warde may have known for a while and just couldnt avoid it any longer. Moore was spinning out of control instead of keeping things close to the vest and finally it was like, dude, you are ****ing out of control and burying yourself. What is for certain is that Moore was doing things unbecoming of a professional in collegiate athletics as there is some damning evidence to back it up. Onlyfans for starters and several women on campus were being followed via the internet as well.

Having read the previous comments from MC and WLV ... I respond as follows:

Wow, this Michigan Mess is … “I got a baaaaaad feeling about this.” If the M athletic dept, Warde Manuel in specific, knew about Moore’s indisclipine and his mental imbalance and did nothing as recruits signed on the dotted line — as he planned to dismiss Moore after signing day -- could some measure of incriminality apply? Or simply underhanded and less-than-honest disclosure? And M fails to “scrape to the bottom of the kettle” on this and deal with the outcome, I’ll be challenged to follow this program in the future. I’m not naive about the dealings of CFB, but this, to me, is “beyond the pale” of acceptance. (Mixing several war movie inference here). WE MUST NOT HAVE … A RECRUITING CLASS GAP (says the M powers who be and the social media slappies who are looking past the miscreant doings that many inside the M bubble apparently knew about for a couple of years. )

Now assuming this is what happened, THIS would be a scandal.

And yes, if Warde was basically like "I could terminate the coach NOW for cause, but I'm gonna keep this in my back pocket for now, see if he beats OSU and makes the playoffs, and if not, I'll terminate him, as soon as recruits are locked in" ... that's bad. That's the wrong thing to do: and I'm saying this applies both at the time and obviously with the benefit of hindsight!

This is not a "head's up play" or smart baseball. This is such short-sighted thinking on Warde's part that will seriously damage the program.

No recruit is going to be happy playing for a program that landed him with a con job like this. And the team chemistry as a whole is going to go straight to hell, and it probably already has, given some of the issues we've seen.

Does anyone think you can tell these kids they need to represent Michigan well on and off the field, work hard, put in the effort with them knowing the coaches and admin are scummy like this?

That's like Urban Meyer losing the Jags locker room after claiming he was "just taking a picture with a lady" when there's video of him jamming his hand up her ass crack.

****, clean house. It does seem to look like even if Warde wasn't being strategic with his timing to hook recruits, he still sat on this massive problem longer than he should have, and he needs to be gone yesterday. All this bullshit is happening under his watch.

No more dumb jocks in charge.

oh. apparently recruits CAN leave right now...

Michigan football loses its first player since Moore firing

The roster fallout has begun for Michigan football.

Matt Ludwig, a four-star tight end from Montana, has been granted a release from his signed national letter of intent, program spokesman Dave Ablauf confirmed to the Detroit Free Press. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound athlete out of Billings West (Billings, Montana) was seen as the No. 1 player in Montana, No. 12 tight end in the country and a top-250 recruit in the class of 2026, according to 247sports composite rankings.

Former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore was charged with felony home invasion and two misdemeanors on Friday, Dec. 12, in 14A-1 District Court in Ann Arbor, according to court records.

The formal charges are:

✅One count of third-degree felony home invasion, a felony.
✅One count misdemeanor stalking related to a domestic relationship.
✅One count misdemeanor breaking and entering.

we knew charges were coming, but the felony is really bad. this makes it seem worse.

This is particularly going to be bad for the university's reputation among non-sports fans, who will see that the university's coach has been hit with a felony charge and think "Wtf is going on there?"

If Warde ISN'T fired next, well... I'm writing letters.

The next AD needs to be smart and professional.

I don't care as much about who they hire next as long as that person: 1) has better judgment than Harbaugh when it comes to hiring assistant coaches; and 2) can run a clean program overall.

The pic of him at arraignment looks pretty bad. What an insane sequence of events. He better be on suicide watch.

friend of mine said he looks to have a case of untreated bipolar disorder.

Wonder if he also has onset CTE or something like that from his playing days. Just terrible judgment here.

you still think when the most powerful man in the football program has an extramarital affair with a young junior staffer, gives her a 60% raise in a year, gets her pregnant, pays for her abortion and covers it up, it's not a scandal? It's only a scandal if the AD knew about the scandal?

And what are the odds that the university conducted and concluded an investigation in the prior 2 weeks or less? It's nearly impossible they didn't know about this for a month+.

And FYI, beating OSU and making the playoff wouldn't have saved his job. Warde had to fire him no matter what. In the unlikely event they beat osu, he might try to sit on it through the playoffs but he was getting fired. Then again, it is uofm we're talking about so...

I see a lot of blame for Warde, but why not blame for Harbaugh? Hes the one that hired all these trash bags that keep getting arrested.

It certainly calls into question his judgment. Of the coaches he hired, off the top of my head, 4 turned out to be of bad character (Matt Weiss, DJ Durkin, Josh Gattis, and now Sherrone Moore). He hired other guys who were lousy coaches, but at least not bad people. And of course, he hired more good coaches than bad ones.

I can't blame him for another man's failings though. It's not fair or possible to criticize him without seeing what he saw then, and I never heard anything but praise for Moore from anything I read, prior to what just came out.

Now everyone is claiming this was an open secret, and people knew for years, etc., but these things are unconfirmed and there's a lot of unsourced quotes going around, which are worthless until confirmed by objective facts.

Not sure why people want to trash Harbaugh so badly. He's been well liked and by all accounts a good coach everywhere he's been. That counts for something.

Warde is the one with the bad track record, not Jim Harbaugh. And we truly don't know what was said between them, or what backroom machinations were going on that caused him to leave Ann Arbor. I don't believe he wanted to voluntarily, at least not prior to the last couple seasons.

Sure, Harbaugh is long gone, and pretty much has already been banned for life by the NCAA, so why not?

That right there, that’s an address with some teeth.

That’ll keep Harbaugh from bringing trash bags who keep getting arrested onto any more college campuses.

You’re a pretty creative problem solver.

Did you ever consider a career in conflict resolution?
