Tigers 2025-2026 Offseason: Trades, Free Agents, Call ups, Rule 5, tender, non-tender, Awards

Does Detroit Tigers' Scott Harris regret 2025 MLB trade deadline? It's complicated.

Scott Harris reflects on deals he didn’t make: ‘I don’t regret those at all’.

I cant ever remember a pitcher winning 2 straight cy youngs and getting traded. Ive seen some crazy big packages get traded for a starter and none of them were the current best pitcher in baseball. If they trade him it has to be for a record return.

At least the skubal rumor mill this off-season should be fun to follow.
His agent seldom does not go to free agency. Plus I'm not sure little I wants to spend that kind of money. They can afford it, all owners can, but i don't know.

Will Tigers trade Tarik Skubal in 2025-26 offseason? Scott Harris: "I can't comment on our players being traded. I can't comment on free agents. I can't comment on other teams' players. I'm going to respond by just not actually commenting on it."

Tigers in 2024-25: Tarik Skubal starts: 42-20. Non-Skubal starts: 131-131.
Scott Harris: "It would be arrogant and tone-deaf to claim that we can do all this stuff without him, but it's also offensive to the other players in the clubhouse to treat us as a one-player team."

Detroit isn’t showing its cards on its ace. That choice tells us how this front office plans to play the offseason.

MAKING MOUNTAINS OUT OF MOLEHILLS.
Totally Tigers

Detroit Tigers’ PoBO, Scott Harris and Manager A. J. Hinch had their end-of-year press conference on Monday. And too many fans are mad that they didn’t get specific answers to their most pressing questions.

Remember when Al Avila was in charge and he spilled everything? When his bon mots included telling us that no teams were interested in trading for Nick Castellanos? We begged for him to keep quiet.

And now that we have someone in charge who is more like Dave Dombrowski who played his cards close to his vest, fans are unhappy that they’re not getting the information they want.

Worst of all, they – and some in the media – are trying to take a very routine press conference and turn it into something controversial.
Let’s dig into the highlights, shall we? Let’s cover the important topics of the presser and dispel some of the fans’ concerns.

This team is probably 2 years from having a true WS contender that is sustainable (5 year run). Trading Skubal is the first step in doing so. They need to acquire some young pitching, SS, 3B, and hitters that don't strike out too much.

3B Alex Bregman has exercised an early termination option in his contract, foregoing the remaining 2 years, $80M on his Red Sox deal to hit free agency.
The 31-year-old carries a 4 year, $112M valuation in our system.
