I think they were just gambling that he would end up better than his contract. Time will tell. My guess is he won't. He doesn't even have a position!

If they had left him at One position he might have thrived more at the plate knowing he was penciled in at that position. But.....
There are too many players that are bouncing around between 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and short and it just seems like overkill for match-ups. Now they are between a rock and a hard place with all these infielders, and those who will stay on the 40 man that are in the minors like McGonigle and Clark,, after spring training or during the 2026 season.

He had a much better season 2 over what I would say was a solid rookie year. They just gave up on him too early at 2B, which is a shame. I remember Bobby Witt Jr. stinking at SS year 1. We all know our own Tork was a big liability at first those first couple seasons. People can get better at defense. Team just gave up on him.

Harris seems to know how to run a business, but doesn't seem to know much about actual baseball. His trades and free agent additions have been pretty shitty.
