WATERCOOLER WEDNESDAY.
Totally Tigers
Last week, we identified the 4 players who were struggling at the plate the most in spring training. And now with one week until Opening Day, it’s time to talk about the players who are having the best offensive ST.
As with last week’s group, the players selected have the largest number of plate appearances.
I will add that since last week, 4-5 more games made a difference in who made the list last week and who dropped in their ranking for this week.
Jace Jung made the top 5 last week and falls off this week. Riley Greene only made the list this week.
Kevin McGonigle’s BA went down a little but his slugging zoomed up. He ranks #2 after Corey Julks.
Julks and John Peck continue to “twin” with their stats – and lead the rest of the players.
And Matt Vierling’s stats only continue to climb higher.
Here are each player’s slash lines:
Riley Greene – .290/.353/.548/.901
Kevin McGonigle – .267/.463/.600/1.063
Matt Vierling – .343/.378/.686/1.064
John Peck – .360/.407/.680/1.087
Corey Julks – .360/.414/.840/1.254
Which one of these players has surprised you the most with his success at the plate?
Which player has surprised you the most with his success at the plate?
