Tigers vs. astros Game Thread May 13

Just saw the highlight. Finally a big hit with the bases loaded. Doesn't get bigger than that.

Avila doing his chucky check-swing K impression.

Avila is officially the only player I'm concerned about hitting wise. Victor is going to hit. Dirks is on a tear. Kelly is a bit player, but will be OK. Avila has shown some flashes that he can still hit, but has looked awful more often than not at the plate.

Tigers starters just seem to take over the game with a several-run cushion. Anibal dealin' now...

Sanchez has plenty left in the tank, with his fastball sitting at 92 over the past 10 pitches.

and he gets pena on 3 straight changeups inside corner,

97 pitches and 7 K's for Anibal,

Tigers lead 7 - 2

Trainer out to look at Bud Norris, who seems to have injured himself while warming up for the sixth inning.
And Norris is coming out of the game. Second injury of the night for the Astros.

Is this kid Roger's son? He's got the same blank sex-offender stare...

What do Tigers Ty Cobb and Andy Dirks have in common? Both hit their first grand slam on May 13...just 102 years apart.

Posted this morning in todays 'Day In Tigers and MLB History'.

Anibal Sanchez gets handshake from Leyland on dugout steps after inning-ending DP. Seven innings of 2-run ball with 8 strikeouts.

Miggy didn't like that 1st pitch strike, and swinging at off speed off the plate.

LOL someone trying to steal your thunder on the broadcast

Someone else must have seen Cobb's at BR and Dirks first grandslam tonight.

Sanchez has not given up more than 3 runs in any start this year (8 starts) and that was 1 game where he gave up 3 runs. All others were less than 2 runs. In his last 13 starts he has one game where he gave up 3 runs and the other 12 were 2 runs or less.

Anibal Sanchez's last five starts: 45 strikeouts, four walks.

Miggy BS after striking out last atbat, 11 game hit streak looks to be over.

In 16 previous starts in the leadoff spot in his career, Dirks had batted .185 with a .221 on-base percentage.

It was worded almost exactly the way you posted it though, seems too much a coincidence, I think whoever tweeted it watches this forum.

Do you suppose those guys all just laugh at Cabrera's jokes, even if they don't understand a Dagon word he's saying, just because they kind of have to?

wow, hmm, I guess there are many that follow here, they just haven't signed on as regulars.

Why do I consider games against the Astros as meaningless exhibitions?
