Tigers vs. indians Game Thread May 21

It's a foregone conclusion that anytime we see Valverde everyones sphincters are going to shrink up.

It's not all that much fun.

You can say that again, I really don't like this whole can't throw the split crap if its too cold, that's not a recipe for success in a post season

Valverde is terrible though. do any of you want to see him pitch in an important game late season? this team needs a real closer.

He has given up 1 run over 9 innings. I don't like the guy either but he has been effective.

Here's a number: 1. As in the number of effective pitches he can throw. Given the fact he has historically allowed a lot of baserunners, how long do you think it's going to take for teams hitting coaches to tell their guys to do nothing but sit on the fastball?

Valverde is like an old unstable human version of nitroglycerin

WHIP, ERA, BAA...I get you hate the guy. But he's, by far, been the best in the 9th for this team this year.

He had one game where that split was lights out, the problem is he can only throw effectively under pristine conditions it would seem. This is going to be a problem sooner or later and this is not a long term solution

Hey, I'm not saying he's Mo Rivera. Hell, he may implode next game. I'm giving the guy props for what he's done since he's been back. He's locating the fastball and that is far more important than having 20 different pitches.

Victor seems very annoyed by the stupid questions he gets asked, anyone see that. Lol his facial expressions were like wtf is this @&### for real

Those stats are useless in a 9 inning sample.

They tell absolutely you nothing about how he's likely to pitch from here on out.

really the only stat i need to see about valverde right now is his .091 BABIP and see his continued single pitch selection to know that his 9 innings of success will soon come to an end, and if we're lucky he wont blow many more (if any) saves before he implodes.
