Wildcard Game #3: Detroit Tigers @ Cleveland Guardians, October 2nd, 2025, 3:08 Pm

No idea what our hitters are looking for. Ive seen them take so many balls down the middle tonight.

Offense has to wake up here. Bullpen managed to keep 4 different flyballs in the park at the warning track. Need a run baaaaaad

It's usually just me and Bob anyway. Guys like you come after the fact to try and call out our takes. Thats pretty much what's left after the mods ran everyone off.
I post during games, but not too much. I usually only post during games if I'm watching at my desk/computer. I didn't realize people got run off. I just thought that people were bored with the site

It's not the inning they take him out. It's the fact that they commit to having to use 4 relievers that is the problem. Jack may have struggles 3rd time through sometimes, but he was cruising just fine and was taken out on the 9th hitter(rochio) who he struck out his first at bat.

Struggles? His ERA is almost 8 on the 3rd time through. Id have left him in for Rochio however.

Given it was a 3rd game in which it was go home or a day of bullpen rest and had like 5 pitchers who hadn't thrown an inning, he had a lot at his disposal.

We can argue about using Kahnle as the 8th inning guy (I would not) but aside from him I think AJ handled the staff very well.

Yesterday I would have been hesitant to have Melton see their top guys a 2nd time. AJ gave him 2 shots, the kid did well considering. But 4 innings is max for a young guy in that spot not named Justin Verlander

I could see a decent argument to leave Melton for the 5th until they came around on the leadoff guy, but again, the results were fantastic. I dont know how we can argue otherwise lol.

And I will probably jinx him now, but Holton was nails last year then imploded in the Guardians series. He has had a pretty good 2nd half to the year other than a couple rough patches in August.

In a perfect world it is Holton 7th, Finnegan 8th, Vest 9th.

That Finnegan injury likely cost Detroit the division. But id rather be playing ball right now than have a division crown.

They were 10 and 1 in games Finnegan pitched in before his injury.
