The Detroit Tigers today announced they have parted ways with Executive Vice President and General Manager Al Avila, effective immediately.

Guys this just happened a few minutes before 4:30 pm August 10, 2022.
As of now at 4:30 it has not been put in any news stories other than the blurb from the Tigers.
For the first time in months the Tigers official site has come out with the first story on what we have been waiting for the past few years.

The Tigers have announced that they have parted ways with executive vice president and general manager Al Avila, effective immediately. Sam Menzin, vice president and assistant general manager, will continue as the day-to-day contact for the team, per the statement. The club?s chairman and CEO Christopher Ilitch says that he will oversee the search for Avila?s replacement.
