Lions were 9-3. Cleveland was 8-4. The Lions had to play a playoff game against the Los Angles Rams the week before at Briggs Stadium and won 31-21. Lions finished 11-3 after the two wins in the post season. This game was in Cleveland and Detroit was a slight favorite.
