This wasn't as widely reported here in the states Saturday...
FBI releases first secret 9/11 file: Saudi embassy official let two hijackers stay at his apartment and helped them in LA before the attack, was 'facilitator' for Al-Qaeda and distributed extremist Muslim literature
Seems that would've been nice to know back in 2002.

At least we all came together to support invading and occupying Afghanistan for 20 years, and to destroy Iraq. We'll always have that.

I watched 20/20 last night. It was a pretty good piece on the 300+ firefighters that died and many of their kids that ended up being on the department now.

Don't tell that to Tinsel.

I am so flattered you remembered, and took the time to look the post up.

What I wrote in the post is pretty much a synopsis of this, stuff people already knew fifteen years ago.

Am I surprised to learn that some fairly low level person or people with a connection to the Saudi government was or were secretly engaged in aiding and abetting the seditious, criminal and outlawed Al queda, inspired by the Saudi fugitive Osama bin Laden?

My guess is there has never been a conflict going back to the dawn of history without people engaged in a double agency.

If anyone would have told me ?no one connected to the Saudi government had any covert connection to Al queda,? I would have said ?that?s not possible.?

So thank you so much for the compliment. I?m very flattered.

You bet! The search function is actually very intuitive if you're specific enough. Just searching my posts for Saudi Arabia brought up six choices. Easy peezy.

I've seen you direct people to specific posts of yours from the past as if they should remember. I knew you'd be proud.

Hmmm, I thought Iran was the only country that had no gay people.

By the way, the document MC linked to proves only Saudi Arabia was involved and that they were involved at the deepest levels of their government. It?s proof that everyone was wrong and we destabilized the extremely stable country of Afghanistan for no reason - even though they were admittedly harboring Bin Laden and Al Qaeda. The fact that Saudi Nationals who attacked the US got some help from other Saudi Nationals in the US proves all of this. You just have to accept this Tinsel - they ?gotcha? bro.

Note - this post contains a significant amount of sarcasm.

Insiders have ?flipped? during times of conflict since the dawn of creation.

It?s important to keep in mind that here, Louie chooses to discontinue being a terrorist to become a freedom fighter - the opposite of the story we?ve been talking about with the Saudi guy at the LA Embassy (okay that?s a little sarcasm too. Of course everyone know the Saudi Royal family ain?t exactly Socrates, Plato and Aristotle - but that?s a completely different discussion).

Ha!

I?m pretty sure the Saudi royal family are not morons.

I was referring more to the Idyllic Athenian model of democracy - which the Saudi royal family sure ain?t.

I didn?t vote for the YouTube video option, but I found a couple I like.

At the behest of Her Majesty the recently departed Queen, from 21 years ago to just about the day.

And from one year ago.

Remember 9/11 today in whatever way you wish, just as I am remembering the recently departed symbolic head of state of our oldest and longest ally in the way that I wish.

It?s a free country.

Hearing the national anthem tears me up.

Me too, buddy.

In fact, I can't make it through this without bawling

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sxHnXajIex4

It?s always dicey when foreigners who really don?t speak English try to sing the US national anthem.

That?s why Pavarotti never tried.

The words are hard enough to remember for native English speakers.

Domingo spoke English a lot better than Pavarotti, he managed to pull it off.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BVDeoU6XLkc

I don?t know if the other guy ever tried to sing it or not, but his English did seem pretty good when he went slumming on Seinfeld that one time.

Isn?t the next scene going back to Champ?s video the one where the character played by Riley Keough?s grandma tries to kill the queen?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pFpd9HU5_7c

Kinda ironic.

EDIT: Well, that?s weird.

Here?s a better clip of Riley, she?s singing.

She can sing pretty good.

Maybe she gets it from her grandma.

Now somebody is telling me that her grandpa was a pretty famous singer at one time.

Apparently Elvis Presley never recorded any rendition of the ?Star-Spangled Banner.?

His rendition of America the Beautiful was pretty big.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4rG0xVfW_0Q

I can?t find any clips of Riley Keough singing the Star-Spangled Banner or any other patriotic songs, but then, although she can sing, it?s not really but she?s known for.
