Currently getting our asses handed to us at Nebraska - scored 26 and down 12 at half time. When was the last time we were this bad with this many seniors and juniors? Only 1 underclassman in the top 5 in minutes and points.

Seem to have gotten their shit together somewhat in the 2nd half and thankfully now it?s Nebraska that can hit a shot.

This team can shoot, we're 8th in the country at 3 Point %. And we defend the 3, we're 23th in the country in 3 Point % allowed. Also a top 25 FT% team. Great 2nd half last night.

It seems to have gotten better and more consistent recently. We're a good but streaky 3 point shooting team - we've been blanked (0/7 at Illinois) and had a few nights in the low teens. We're also only 282nd out of 352 in 3PT attempts/game although it does seem like the trend is increasing.

As for the 3 PT defense we're definitely missing some context - we don't play a lot of 3 PT shooting teams. Besides us only PSU and IU are in the top 100 in 3 PT% and half the league is in the bottom 150 in attempts, 9 of us are in the bottom 200. And we're pretty streaky there as well - held Iowa to 17.6% at Breslin but then they shot 47.2 in Iowa City, uofm was 15% then 35% (their average), Neb was 12 then 30%, IU was 35.7 & 60%, Purdue was over 40% twice.

It's all over the board but looks like our 3 PT defense has more to do with teams being not great, streaky shooting teams.

It's kinda funny to think if we didn't lay an egg against Iowa and played (and beat) MN, we'd be alone in 2nd place in the conf at the moment. Two highly unusual twists are the difference between 2nd and tied for 7th. This is a bizarre year for the B1G.

A few other bounces and we could be tied for first. Hoggard, an 80% FT shooter doesn't miss that pair vs Purdue and they're 12-6 while we're 12-6 with that win over Iowa. Really had a chance at the Big Ten title. We also let that 2nd UM game slip away when we looked like the better team most of the game.

One of those years. 18-11, looks like a 7 seed in the NCAA Tourney is about locked in. I like the way we've been playing for a few weeks.
