The Boyd we all remember.

Makes a terrible 1-2 pitch that ends up being a double and a Rbi and doesn?t let it go and groves a bomb to make it 3-1 Cleveland to the next batter. Terrible 1-2 pitch to the batter before the homer. When he implodes it?s fast.

3-3 middle of the 7th

Tigers with 10 hits, 9 of them singles.

Greene & McKinstry each have 2 hits
Hasse 3-3 so far

Carpenter with the only xbh with a double.

Boyd goes DEEP into the game, pitching 5 innings with 82 total pitches

Tigers win 4-3 on a two out bottom of the 9th solo walk off blast from Carpenter.

f yeah! Who owns the current longest winning steak in the AL.

The D! Damn straight!

nice game

3 players with 3 or more hits

Greene 3-5
Carpenter 3-5 with a 2b and walk off HR
Haase went 4-4

Had a few huge duds as well

Hitting leadoff, Matton 0-4
Baddoo 0-4
Cabrera 0-4

14 hits..one huge one...Tigers have now won 4 straight..

6-6 since the opening series in TB.

Matthew Boyd..pretty solid..8 whiffs on his 4S FB..actually very good..3 whiffs on 26 sliders..not good..1 whiff on the supposedly markedly improved Change up..who we kidding..yet the outing was serviceable.

Englert..very good..Fetter has emphasized what we have learned..don't allow Mason Englert to throw many 4S FB..he only threw 5 in 34 pitches.

Tigers 4 - Guardians 3 (Gm 1): Kerry Carpenter wins it with a walkoff homer.
The two-out shot in the ninth makes it four in a row for the suddenly streaking Tigers.
